Help! How do you get bolognese stains out of a cotton duvet cover?

I knew it would happen. Clumsy old me dropped her spaghetti bolognese on the duvet cover. It's 100% cotton, and cream in colour. I've washed it on a hot wash straightaway, but it's still stained.
Any ideas? I can't be the first person out there to have done this! lol
Thanks in advance...

I use a touch of bleach, baking soda, oxy clean and tide, mix it all together, take a little toothbrush out scrub for a minute or 2, throw it in the wash, hot water, it should come out before you put it in, you should be able to see a huge difference. I do that with all my husband's clothing, he drives truck and other heavy equipment, and he's always covered in oil and such, that's always gotten it out, oh and it's gotten tar and blood stains out too. I hat this white shirt and i was so upset when i sliced my hand and got blood on it, but it worked, and red freezy juice, got that out of white 100% cotton too. Hope it works for ya

Thanks for your response. I ended up trying Stain Devils No.5, which gets out cooking oils and sauces, among others. I've just soaked it and it's completely vanished. I am so happy! lol So just for future reference, Stain Devils rule!

Well first off, washing it in hot water may have set the stain for good. You may be able to save it though. Get some seltzer water & some color safe bleach & use a few drops of each, work it into the stain with a soft toothbrush. (A baby toothbrush is best) Dab it with a dry washcloth & repeat until the stain is gone. It may take a few times to get it all out. If this doesn't work, I am not sure what will. Good luck to you.
