I've got 2 dogs if my wife and i should die at the same time,i've stated in my will that they should be put down, i know it sounds awful, but i know, Nobody, will look after them like us, as it is, when we go on holiday, they refuse to eat the first couple a days. so all dog lovers out the what will you do.

I must admit, Ive never thought of that, and yes it sounds awful, but after thinking about it, I will most probably do the same. Because what will become off them, and I would not like to burden people looking after them, for starters they are spoiled rotten, and a shelter is out of the question. Thx for a very provocative thought

I suppose that is your decision as the owners. I don't agree - but that's my opinion.
It's smart that you have a will. Hopefully you and your wife will not have to worry about that and your dogs for a long long time.

I doubt that very much as they are already very old, so the inevitable is quite in the near future

I don't agree with that decission and i would never do that, but that is my opinion. I think it is up to you as the owners and family to these dogs. But to me my pets are family and I would never put it in my will to put my family members down. But then I am confident in the friends and family that I have, and I know they would take care of my pets just as well as I do.
In the end you need to do what you feel is best. I admit that I am answering this right after reading it so who knows if my views would chage after I think about this more, which I will do.

I believe if you have the confidence that friends and family members would take care of your pets than that is what matters most. I certainly wouldn't want to think of putting my beloved pets down either, but I would also want to be sure there was someone willing to look after them.

They have been spoiled by us, it will be difficult on them and on people, be that my family, or friends. So it was a difficult decision

I would not do this with our 2. If we should go together, then we have friends who would take them. They are fellow husky people and our dogs really love them. I hope we never have to worry about that. I guess we should get our wishes in writing. It is a personal choice but I think it is a bit drastic.

You are very lucky to have such friends. I don't, and i won't be able to go to sleep at night worrying about things like like that
