Prince Harry is heading off to Iraq to fight for his country. But is it a good idea to let such a famous person go and fight?. Are the Iraqi Insurgents not going to use this as an excuse to increaes attacks on the British army? afterall what would be better for a terrorist than claiming the life of the 3rd in line to the thrown?
What are your thoughts?

I think its great that he wants to go. Watching movies set in the middle ages, etc, I was always quite impressed that you'd often see the King or Prince out on the battlefield leading the army...

i'm not sure i do know who, Harry is only goin there because he opted to join the army so he has to go wherever the rest of his company go. The last thing Tony blair would want is to lose a member of the royal family in iraq, its already unpopular enough.

Well why shouldn't he go? It was his choice to join the armed services so it's part of his job now. Hopefully it'll be "character building" for him and stop him getting into quite so much trouble in future! He's not the first - Prince Andrew was a pilot during the Falklands War and at the time he was second in line to the throne (Maybe third, can't remember if William had been born by then). I remember the Argentinians made a lot of noise then about getting hold of him but they didn't manage it
As for being a target I suppose he would obviously be high on any insurgents "hit List" but I doubt if it will significantly increase attacks on the British Army.

Given his position, I tend to think that he is there more as a show of support and moral boosting.
If the king's son is there, then it may make those there stand taller. But I do not think Prince Harry will truly be in harm's way. I am sure that he will be well guarded and is there to learn.
So, I will hope for his safe return along with the many others there from all the countries. :)
