ya you are very correct,as a doctor i have seen many HIV+ patients suffering from same called as 'seborrhoic Dermatitis'. actualy becoz of t-helper lymphocytes decreased count in such pts fungal infection remains as it is.these fungal infection then spreads all aver the body, esp in the mouth. have u ever saw the tounge of HIV+ Pts ?...if not & if u will get the opportunity, definately look for his tounge(esp. in chronic cases of HIV+ pts)u will find thick whitish patch all over his tongue & inner wall of mucous membrane of mouth. for this condition we prescribes anti-fungal mouth paints & tabs like fluconazole.

This is a relatively common occurrence in people with HIV/AIDS, especially with advanced disease and low T-cells. It is called "seborrheic dermatitis". It is thought to be caused by a fungal infection that takes over because the body's immune system is not working properly. There is treatment, but the best thing is to take medications to treat the HIV/AIDS and bring the T-cell count up. Here are a few links for information: http://dermatology.about.com/cs/seborrhea/a/seb_aids.htm http://www.aidsetc.org/aetc/aetc?page=cm-529_sebdem
