You need to read the question. They didn't ask what your favorite food was they asked what your favorite WORD is.

My favorite word and it has been for about 20 years is phantasmagoria.
I not only like what it means I like how it sounds. It is not a common word so when I hear it used I get happy. (I know that sounds nuts)

Sorry it means:
1- a shifting series of phantasms, illusions or deceptive appearances as in a dream or created by the imagination
2- a changing scene made up of many elements
3- an optical illusion produced by a magic lantern or the like in which figures grow and shrink and pass into each other, disolve etc.
I meant to include that originally. (I wish we could edit our posts here on myLot)

Mine is simple. The word is "love". It's my favorite word because it's such a powerful word and all people in this world we live in experience this. It's also my favorite because no one could ever define its meaning. And there is no exact meaning to that too. It depends on each inidividual how he or she can give meaning to love. :)

One of my greatest passion is words, and a great game is to "Play" with them.
Favorite is relative and subjective. CHANGE is one of the greatest expressive words in any language.
My latest is "Derelict" though I'm not defined that way currently. To me it evokes visions not strictly of a ship cast out to an open Sea, without a crew, or a vagabond explorer taking paths less traveled, but in the Universal sense it defines FREEDOM.

One of my favorite words is laughter. It means something wonderful and even sounds a little like it.
I have to tell you my least favorite work, though. No, I can't categorize it as a favorite in any way, shape or form. I hate this word. Despise it. What it is. How it sounds. Even how it's spelled. Ewwww. The word is:
phlegm
Aaargh, it was even hard to type it. Isn't it ugly? I can't say it. I'll say snot before I'll say that other word. Mucusoidal messiness. Anything but that other word. Ick. Poo. Gack!
Have I mentioned how much I hate that word?
