Awww, c'mon guys. It is not as if he's applying for a job at NASA. Politics is for everyone, schooled or unschooled.
If you still subscribe to the idea that the Philippine Congress is a law-making body, you've got a lot to learn about the dynamics of Philippine politics. The Lower House is nothing but a venue for horse trading; the Senate has been reduced to an extension office of the National Bureau of Investigation. In short, those guys there do not even know WHY they are there in the first place. Manny Pacquiao will feel right at home there. Last I heard, he's backing off (God bless him). But going back to the candidates' credentials: Everyone has the RIGHT to run for public office, and you and I have every right to choose who to vote for. None of this prior restraint, please. If we follow the argument that only SCHOOLED people should be allowed to run, doesn't it follow then that those UNSCHOOLED should not be allowed to vote? I'm no fan of boxers who want to be politicians, but I'm no fan of elitists and bigots either.

Well, it seems that the pacman is having second thoughts about entering politics. I don't know if you saw the news last night, but he was booed at a political rally. His heart may be in the right place but politics is not for him. Better to concentrate on what he does best and that's boxing.

I am not in favor of pacqiuao entering the politics. Did you hear what he had to say when asked about what laws and bills he had in mind? Well, he said he'd rather vote for the bills passed upon by the intelligent congressmen. Lame answer. He'd better find some other ways if he wanna help the people.

for god sake, he is a highschool graduate.. how in the world can he make laws..?! Being a lawmaker, you should have a political background or you should be an attorney or maybe a professional to be qualified... PACMAN should stay on the ring...

And look at where professionals, lawyers, and college graduates have gotten us. How many times do you guys have to be told: Philippine Congress is NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT a lawmaking body (as it is supposed to be). It's been just an old boys club since Eddie Garcia was an infant. The sooner you get that into your heads maybe then we'll start moving forward. You're being taken for a ride(along with your diplomas and all)... and the sad thing you're probably not even aware of it. Manny Pacquiao SHOULD be in Congress, the United States Congress, preferably.

Pacquiao is a dogtail of some political pigs here in our country.I cannot degrade pacquiao coz i don't really know him very well, but as far i know, how can he make privildge speech in the congress??he didn't even have a college degree but i know it's not necessary to serve the masses. He's not aware that people are kinda making ridicule out of him..if he gets lost in this election,it would be great devastation to his career.

it seems that this guy has a good heart for our country, but it's not enough to qualify him to run any government office.
if i may suggest, i like him to run a foundation for a cause, or support any civic organization that jives with his aspiration.

i think, if he can do good to the people, that he can help more poor people, then why not? though he has no knowledge about laws but still he can understand it, then theres no problem with that..the important is, he can help and he will not go on corruption, it's fine..

pacman's an idiot! there's so many philanthropist nowadays, that's what he should do rather than entering pollitics. that's why the Philippines cannot progress, due to the ugly political system.

For me i think its better for him to stay in his field of boxing rather than joing the world of politics, he maybe very good with boxing and thats what he's popular of but a big no no to politics. Good records and being proud to fight for filipinos is good enough and a big contribution already to the Philippines. I think he just need to settle with that.

This is f*cking bullshit if all of our popular celebrity is going to run for politics. They all seem to win. I don't understand why people are voting for these celebrities that doesn't know anything. Now, look at how many actors are running for senators, one is Richard Gomez and Cesar Montano. I was shocked really when I learned that they are running for the gov't. They aren't ashamed of themeselves. They don't know anything. Id say they are good in acting and that's the only place for them!!!

Now that is a lot more interesting that the actors turned politicians in our current political scene. This will probably be the most interesting to watch out for, and the most chilling should he, heaven forbid, actually win. We'll look forward to a major tour for his single.hehhehe

i agree! a couple of weeks back we saw him and his brother taking some pep test to somehow get a high school diploma and we all thought, wow good example. then he runs for what? governor.. hmm so the test was only taken to somehow up his educational background.
we all know he's kind, he gives out to people when he wins, so it's not a question of intent. but people who should be getting in these offices need to be schooled and experienced. it's not a freakin popularity contest.
i still love pacman. but i think it's waste that if he wins, my tax is gonna go to his paycheck

If I remember correctly, he said "Hindi naman kailangan ng talino diyan e" (You don't need intelligence for the job) when asked about his qualifications as a politician.
Hell no.

i think manny is only being used by the goverment from what i could rememmber darlene custodio is a staunch opposition while she is running for re-election in thier province thats why they are putting manny to be able to defeat her
