Oscars Awards are those really that good?

Personally I love to watch movies, it's part of my job and it's one of my favorite hobbies, I think it's everyone favorite, what I would like to know if that you saw any movie that you recommend and that you think should have a nomination at the oscars or other event, I think that the oscars don't always show the best movies, as there are a lot wich don't have the desserved attention. In my opinion Martin Scorcese should have won an oscar with Goodfellas or Casino, and Jhonny Depp, with almost any of his movies. What do you think?

It's my least favorite of all of the award shows because everyone is in tuxedos and it seems so formal and stuffy. The other award shows let them wear what they want and they're lest prestigious, so people get to be themselves. I enjoy that kind of atmosphere on an awards show much more.
Also, they always have some strange person of film listed in the nominees that no one has ever heard of or seen.
