I hope he gets his ring back, but I have to admit...

I was just reading a news story about a guy who lost his wedding ring, which he said had not been off of his finger in years, because he was playing around with his kids, one of whom had a helium filled balloon. The man took the ring off and tied it to the balloon to see if it would weigh the balloon down, and the next thing he knew, his kid was opening the front door and the balloon was flying away with his ring tied to it. LOL.
I have to admit, I really do hope that the man gets his ring back.. but I wouldn't have tied something that precious to something that could fly away with it, would you? *laugh*

Definitely not one of that guy's better moments. *LoL* At least he lost it while playing with his kids though. Hopefully that helped soften the blow when he had to break the news to his wife. I think if it were my husband I'd have yelled at him for being such an idiot but cut him some slack since he was playing with the kids. *LoL*

i would not be able to get my ring off to do this with, and I would not trust a helium balloon with anything of value. I agree, I hope he gets it back, and I hope his wife forgives him.

pretty stupid thing to do, there were probably other things he could hae used. however i do hope that he will get it back, but it all comes down to the person who finds it - honest or not.
If I found something like that i would for sure give it back. A wedding ring is something that u really never can replace!

I have a similar story to tell. Our coach on the softball team also lost his wedding ring during practice. His wife joined the practice that day so we could really see how deeply saddened she was. So we, the players, scattered out on the field, and like goats looking for some good grass to eat, started to look for the wedding ring. We have to be on our knees because there was too much grass on the field and we really wanted find the ring. To end it, we didn't find the ring on the field. It fell off on one of the gloves our coach used. LOL. That was quite an experience but it was a fun one. Especially when we saw how glad the coach's wife was

I sure hope that his kids are old enough to be witnesses for him, because he might have a bit of explaining to do with his wife! Seriously, what a stupid thing to do, although I can see what his thought processes were. I sure hope that he gets the ring back, but it seems really unlikely, doesn't it? Kind of like finding a needle in a haystack!

Don't mind me saying on this, but did the man do it wantedly to get the ring off or just wanted to see for the reason stated.
I mean he might be showing the signs to end the relationship. This is just the other way of seeing the issue. No regrets. Just an opinion.

LOL ..that is so funny. I cant believe he would put his wedding ring on the balloon. He probably will never get his ring back.I hope he learned something by this, never tie your ring to a balloon.

That is terrible and sad, poor guy. I think that, unless it pops and lands in an area nearby, he is never going to get it back. Perhaps, there is a one in a million chance, but it seems even more unlikely than that. I lost my wedding ring in the car, and I knew where it had fallen, into a little crevice, but because it wouldn't come out, I started to doubt that it had actually rolled there. Then, I started looking in other places in the car, once I had looked everywhere, I ended up going to that same crevice, because I knew that I had seen it glittering there, before I had shoved in further. So, I kept at it until it finally rolled back out...thank goodness...I would have been devastated, I am always worried about that sort of thing, because I can be so forgetful and clumsy.

LOL! What on earth was he thinking?? I mean, his wedding ring??
If I wanted something to weigh the balloon down there is no way on this earth I would have used my Wedding ring! That's something sacred, mine won't ever be off my finger. Marriage is for life after all, and so the ring should be lol.
It IS kinda funny though, I mean he took the ring off and tied it to the balloon, then left it with his kid long enough for him to open the door and wave goodbye lol.
I hope he gets it back though, if he does, it'd be a pretty awesome story.

Oh the poor man! I hope this story gets around and some one finds it! I 've heard of other wedding ring "miracles". A woman once lost her wedding ring in her garden. Years later after they had sold their property the new owners pulled a carrot out of the garden that had grown straight through the whole in the ring. The new owners were able to give the woman her ring back decades after it was lost.

I'd have to kill my husband too. I bet he was feeling like an idiot after he did that. What in the world possessed him to tie his WEDDING RING to the balloon!? He could have tied any other object to see if it would weigh it down but he picked his wedding ring. Bet he was sleeping on the couch that night.
