Hi my daughter is in second grade and she is doing great in shcool. She has fun when she gets there. She just likes to fight with me in the morning because she says she does not want to go. I think the biggest reason is because she knows the younger kids are home with me all day. Any suggestions on ways to make my mornings easier?

With my daughter I tell her that if she doesn't want to go to school I'm perfectly willing to teach her at home myself, but she wouldn't be able to see her friends any more. It soon spurs her into action.

That would not have worked with my daughter, there are still too many kids on our street for her to play with.
I used a reward system. Everday she got ready, and went to school without arguing with me I let her put a star on the calendar. If she went a whole week with stars she got to pick the movie we would watch on Friday night.
Of course you would have to find the right reward program for you and your child, but giving her something to look forward to just might do the trick.

I will try the friends thing she is always talking about them and what they did that day. I will let you know how that and the rewards thing work.

Perhaps shes still tired from the night before? Maybe getting to bed a bit earlier will help her get up and feel awake.
Have her help you get all her school things together the night before. You can set out her clothes and hair stuff before going to bed. Pack her lunch ect. It will make thing simpler. Do your other children get up at the same time? Perhaps you can wiggle it to where you and she get some alone time together before heading off to school.

We have tried getting into bed at 7:30, she is allowed to watch tv for a little while. It has helped a little bit she is not as crabby in the morning.
