Ok - so imagine the scene.............. my partner didn't want to eat tonight and went to lie down (probably due to last night's hangover!!!), so I decided to treat myself to a takeaway pizza, and some wine. Half way through my pizza, the door bell went, so I went to answer it........ and when I came back, Henry (my ginger cat) was eatng my pizza, and Lily (my 7 month old tabby kitten), was attemptong to drink from my wine glass, but had only succeeeded in knocking it over!!! Needless to say - that was the end of my dinner!
So have your pets ever eaten or done anything they shouldn't?

Reminds me of something one of my cats did, with pizza also. I was just starting on my last piece when I had to go to the bathroom. I came back to find my cat running across the floor with the piece hanging from her mouth. Was the end of my dinner also.

I have four cats. They are all very strange. I have one that will not eat cat treats, but will eat meat like steak and chicken and such. I have one that eats nothing but cat food period, no tuna or anything at all. One that will be finiky about eating, likes some people food but just depends on what kinda day he is having to what he eats. AND THEN, there is the one cat that I just love the most, she eats anything!Except for seafood! She eats corn, greenbeans, steak, potatoes, pork... Everything except seafood. She will not even eat cat food that has seafood in it nor treats. I cannot count the times I have turned my back and my food be gone. The other night she took my husbands steak he had not even cut up yet an I laughed so hard, he could not belive it. She could not wait for him to cut it up, she took the whole piece and hall tailed it to the other room. She is also funny becasue when we are eating, she will take her paw and just aimlessless reach up on our plates just try to grab what she can sometimes. Too funny that I thught I had strange ones.

You can train cats not to do that, you know.... I think I would be rather peeved if every time I turned my back while sitting down to a meal, my cat stole it. I have 10 cats that are more disciplined, thank goodnes.

LOL--- too funny! My cat Bozo is always trying to eat my dinner or lunch when I'm eating in the living room. Darn cat! He has even dipped his paw into my glass of milk to get some- Cats are crazy! But you gotta love them! Bozo has never tried to eat my pizza though- Pizza is my favorite and I think he knows better! LOL

Awwww your cats look so cute.
My cat would always lick my cereal bowl out if I put it on the floor after I finished. One day I was eating a chinese meal on the floor with a boyfriend and we were watching a romantic film. We got a bit carried away with the film and when we looked down my cat was eating rice off our disguarded plates. I guess because it was on the floor he thought it was food for him.

LOL!!!!!!! I have so been through that!! Imagine your cat on caffeine?? My cowabunga kitty, Mea, was bouncing off the walls and I couldn't figure out why. Then I found her head in my coffee cup in the sink. She was helping herself to last few drops in the cup and licking the spoon. Well, now I make sure I rinse out the cup and put in the dishwasher right away. No more kitty bouncing off the walls!!

When I was in Arizona my boyfriend's cat Maysi tried to drink some vodka out of our glasses. We got her away from them just in time, but we had to really watch her closely, as she kept trying to do it again.

Oh gawdddd. This is a strange tale indeed I have for you. Many years ago,the 70's I had 2 Hamsters. One was called Hitler because he stood with one paw straight up like the Hitler salute. I spoiled these 2 critters with a huge tube set up that wound all around my apartment. Must have been 200 feet of tubing. Anyhow when I came home from work one day I saw blood on Hitlers fur. After a bit of investigating I found the other Hamster with a hole in its chest. After further checking I noticed the blood ob Hitlers face. This totally freaked me out as I didnt trust him at all anymore. So he was given away immediately after this. Thats the only thing any of my pets ever ate that isnt normal. Thanks for this.

Well I like dogs as well, but here in the UK far more people keep cats as pets rather than dogs. They are the most popular pet here.

Oh no I do not have any cats, but I do know that they can get up to mischief when they want to as when I was very young I had my own cat and she used to get up to all different things and eat some of my dinner sometimes if I was not quick enough to rescue my food before she got to it, so this to me was funny and I do understand what it is like thanks for your discussion.

Lol, my cat is a little weird. She will not eat canned cat food or anything that is Fish flavored. Well, Tuna mostly, she does go in for Salmon flavored treats sometimes. We have to feed her turkey and chicken dry food. Whiskas at that. She's VERY finicky
She WILL however, eat things such as Deli meat, steak, pork, chicken, rice, bread and potatoes. We don't actually feed her these .... they're things that we discovered by accident when we left our plates out whilst getting something or answering the phone.
We do give her a tiny little bit of Milk on a daily basis. She is lactose tolerant and it's not doing her any harm to have a tiny little bit each day. She digests her food well and it's not causing any problems so, she should be okay with it.

this is the reason why I don't have any pets. (and because of their hair, and the care that you need to give them...)
So, now I am sure! I don't want a pet.
If I half to buy some animal, I probably go on fishes. there is no way that fishes will eat my dinner! :-)

Don't worry about it - it is probably good for me not to eat too much of it anyway! Thanks for responding.

LOL .... you have just painted a pretty funny picture ;o)
I don't get problems like that with our Rainbow, she is really good when it comes to other peoples food or her feeding time. She will sit real patient and wait, i've never know a cat so laid back when it comes to food.
I did have a cat once, he was called Smudge, a crafty little thing he was. Stole a whole gammon steak off my plate once. It was funny to watch him run off with it dangled between his legs though .......... lol

lol You sure did good creating this discussion from the posts I've read so far. All are funny. It's amazing what creativity cats can come up with. My cat who is pictured, loves to eat/drink anything I do and will sit there beside my shoulder or on the floor beside me patiently waiting for me to share my meal with him. Sadly, I haven't been able to do that for 4 yrs. now cause his tummy doesn't agree with most human foods even if they aren't seasoned. When he was a kitten, he developed a fondness for hot chocolate and would sit on my shoulder while I'm drinking it. Every time I brought the mug up to my mouth to drink, he would dip his paw in and then lick it clean. I feel bad for him cause he wants so badly to have some of what I'm eating but doesn't understand he pays for it soon after by throwing up. Right now he is sitting behind me on the bed pawing me for some tea that I'm drinking. Earlier he was trying hard to get a piece of candy I was eating. I find it very hard to say no to him when he looks at me in a certain way, purring, and reaching his paw out for some.

LOL! Yes - my "babies" remind me of a pride of lions when they are all eating together too! Or sometimes a flock of vultures when they're all staring at me wanting to be fed!
