I like it. It is definetly different. I don't understand why it's on 2 different channels & 2 different nights, but that's good if you miss an episode.

We're stl llearning the powers, and some aren't what they seem. It is about "ordinary" people that begin to have these powers (we don't know why yet) and have to come together and save New York from a nuclear explosion (it seems so anyway). Really nothing is definite and there are many twists.

I love it and it keeps me guessing... trying to figure out all the different powers... what's going on with 'nuke york'... what all can syler do and what's the deal with the brains... etc., etc., etc. Yep, I'm officially addicted :-)

It is definitely unique, and a type of unique that makes it great.

Well, I love it like I said, but I wouldn't say it is exactly unique. It seems to be a TV adaptation of the comic series "Rising Stars" (Top Cow prod.) written by J. Michael Straczynski. He even uses the term Specials and has a Special Serial killer who is killing other Specials. It's the most realistic superhero epic since Alan Moore's Watchmen. The only major difference I see is that Straczynski's Specials got their powers as children from a comet and the Specials of Heroes seem to genetic mutations (though how can mutations have a "patient zero" like they're calling Syler?) I can't find Straczynski's name anywhere in the credits so I hope he's gotten something out of this; it's just too close to his work to be coincidence.

Here's a little more about "Rising Stars" (pub. 1st by Top Cow then by Image): Rising Stars is the story of the Pederson Specials, a group of 113 people empowered by a single event. In the late Sixties a fireball struck the town of Pederson, Illnois granting fantastic powers to the 113 children who were in utero at the time of impact. They grew up as the world watched. Labeled the "Specials" by the Media, their powers were monitored and catalogued by the United States Government. Public perception of them changed often. Were they the future of mankind? A scourge? A random occurrence? Heroes? Villains? Role models or simply caricatures? What would be their impact on culture and society? They were a waried as kids and adults ever are; some were more powerful, some less. As adults they became many things: a policeman, a corporate symbol, a singer, an assassin, a writer, a painter, a thief, a preacher. Some found celebrity, some notoriety, while others simply went to work and raised families like everyone else. But they all carried inside them a seed of something great. Something special. Something that made them stars. As their epic stories unfolded, there were other stories as well...of their lives and the lives of those around them.

I first started watching Heroes days ago (In Italy) and it is very attractive seen that i like magic.I left watching charmed and i am starting watching it, but i think that is something that day by day i will follow watching it i could like more. Main characters play good roles, and i like special effects, i think it will become for me the new preferred tv episodes:)
