I saw somewhere that I should drink eight 8 oz glasses a day. But does it really need to be that much? What are the benefits of it?

At least a couple of liters a day. There is such a thing as water intoxication, so too much can be bad for you. i don't count coffee or tea, either, beyond two cups.

I drink at least the daily recommended amount. I started when I was pregnant, and now I'm just used to it. And I do feel better than when I was drinking a lot of soda and crap. I just always have a bottle with me and keep refilling it. Sometimes I add some koolaid mix, but it's not always necessary.

8 glasses is what's recommended. It helps clean and remove toxins from the body

You do need a lot of fluids to get you through the day but they don't have to come in the form of water it can be fruit juice, tea etc. You also get a lot of water from the food you eat as well, so you don't need to worry about drinking too much water.

Drinking enough water every day has lots of benefits. It keeps your body hydrated so your cells can be healthy. It flushes toxins from your system faster, and makes you feel better. It even helps keep your skin healthy and looking good. The eight glasses don't necessarily all have to be plain water, tea or juice is good too, just don't drink too much coffee or pop (they have opposite effects, dehydrating you and adding unhealthy elements into your body). I think I'll go get a glass of water right now, cheers!
