Anyone else in the blizzard tonight?

We are under a blizzard warning from now til 6:00 PM tomorrow night. Churches are even cancelling services tomorrow and the buses in Madison aren't running. It isn't too bad right now but it's predicted to be bad at times with near white out conditions. I have to take my son to work in a couple of hours and then I can stay in til tomorrow AM when we have to go feed horses. I plan on watching a movie with some popcorn and maybe a fire in the fireplace. Tomorrow Chili is on the menu for lunch and lots of wood for the fireplace. :-)

I live in Northern Wisconsn and we were suppose to be getting snow all day today and all night tonight. Who knows what it is going to do now.... My husbands relatives are in that Blizzard you are talking about. They live north of Madison.

They are probably not too far from me, then. I live a little south of Madison. My husband is delivering pizza tonight. He works on the weekends for Pizza Hut part-time. It's snowing and blowing here right now. We're supposed to be getting about 14" total.

They delivered up until around 11:00 when they finally closed. My husband got stuck in the snow right on the road. The roads had drifted to the point of having drifts right in the road. They called off the plows here until it stopped blowing because they just couldn't keep up. He ended up staying at a co-workers house and sleeping on the floor. He went to get his truck this morning but it had been towed. They finally found the truck and it had been disabled. He had to wait for an hour in the cold for the guy to show up so he could take his truck and come home. He finally got home around 1:30 this afternoon. My son is a manager at McDonald's and they closed down last night. Very unusual for McDonald's and he got a ride home so called me at around 1AM to let him in the house. I had to shovel my way into the barn this morning as the wind had piled the snow against the barn doors. It's been raining now so the snow is very heavy and wet. The roads have been plowed, so they are o.k. but it's pretty sloppy out.

Oh my goodness! They were delivering pizza in that storm last night? I hope he made it ok.

We are having some icy rain here, the deck is slick already, but on the weather channel it looks like we are on the edge of the storm. But a lot of churches in the area have already cancelled. Sounds like you are well prepared to stay in!

Madison huh? I live in North Suburban Minneapolis MN. We've had about a foot of snow so far. Right now it's blowing and drifting terribly. We have the same warnings till tomorrow night also. It's not too bad temp wise though. We had freezing rain early this morning. The roads here aren't plowed too well due to the blowing and drifting though. I'm glad someone else is in the storm also. Well not really but you know what I mean I hope. Stay warm and don't hurt yourself shoveling all that pretty white stuff. Have a good weekend. Thanks' for this topic. I know you guys in MN get a lot more snow than we do. We are getting wind and drifting also. I was supposed to take my son to work but my pastor was out "trying his car on the snow" and came by to pick him up. He was worried about me going on in the van with the wind. He said I90 was good going south but it was bad coming back north. Temps here aren't bad either. It's 24 right now.
My father-in-law gave us a big heavy duty snow blower a couple of years ago. I can't run it but my husband does. I't so much easier than shoveling, especially the long driveway at the barn.

Yes it is blizzarding here in Iowa. It rained first and then now it is snowing on top of it. Don't want to be on the roads that is for sure. Plan on going no where until MOnday for sure. Best to stay in with weather like this.

We are supposed to be getting sleet along with the rain. I really don't like driving on ice. If I didn't have to go out I wouldn't!
