What brand of sewing machine do you use and/or own?

I have a fairly new BROTHER machine and a 30 year old SINGER GENIE. The BROTHER of course has more stitches and new fancy things on it, but hte old, reliable SINGER is great for straight stitching. What do you use?

i have one of those bernina's. it was my mother's,but she never uses it. i used to have one of those kenmores with the cog wheels for fancy stitching...and to be honest? i liked it better.the bernina seems fragile,it doesn't like heavy material at all.

I have a 1977 Touch & Sew Singer. I love it mostly because I can't kill it and because it has it so I just flip a switch and wind my bobbin without having to take it out. I have to be sure to take it only to this one repair guy because whenever I have taken it anywhere else the guy has tried to tell me my machine is a hunck of junk and that it's "un-fixable" and try to sell me a new machine. I had a new machine once and it was constately giving me problems. This little singer has been passed down from my grandmother to my mother and to me and all I do is have it maintanced once every two years. I have a home business making lap quilts and have made hundreds on that thing and it still runs great. If I can ever get a second one of the exact model I'm going to buy it up. It's hard to find one dependable. I don't ever use all that fancy stuff, so I don't need one of those new things.

I have Kennmore. I also have Sear Futura. I brought the Futura last year. I brought the Futura because of the embroidery features.

I have an old Singer sewing machine that's hand operated, I found out it was made in a factory they had in the Philippines that was only open for a year in the 1920's. It still works brilliantly despite it's age and I've made quite a few things on it.

This is giving me sewing machine envy. I use a Brother that's about 3 years old. I had never sewn before and wasn't sure how much I'd like it, so I bought a mid-level one. It's OK, but I really need a better machine.

My husband gave me a Brother sewing machine for Christmas, I have been asking for one for years. I am attempting to make quilts for my daughters and having fun doing it. I am using scrap fabric and some new but mostly I am using thier old clothes. I love my sewing machine!

I have a singer and a brother, my singer is about 12 years old and my brother is about 15 or so years old. I love them both. I love to sew and use them both frequently. I use one for quilts and the other for mending. I dont want to use my quilt one for mending as I need to adjust tension ect for mending various articles. This way I dont have to mess up my quilt settings. Both of mine do a number of different stitches.

My mother owns the same brand. Brother, she also has two others but I'm not sure what brand they are. I sometimes use them to help with her work, as she makes clothes and things like that and it really beats watching her machine when I haven't got anything to do myself. Kudos, ~Joey

My daughter asked for a Viking Sewing Machine for her graduation from high school more than 30 years ago. I liked it so well that I replaced my unreliable Kenmore with one just like hers, even though I didn't know much about the Viking at that time. We both still have our Vikings and wouldn't trade them for a brand new machine of any brand. The only repair mine has required is a cleaning and tune-up once. It is a great machine.

I have two Brother machines. One is 15 years old, and just does basic zig-zag and straight stitches. It has been a really great machine for me these last years. My newer machine has a lot of fancy stitches and it automatically sews button holes. (THAT was the selling point to me!!!) I love my new machine, but it does get a little touchy sometimes. Right now, it's doing an amazing job helping me sew a coil rug, using clothes line and scrap fabric. My older one could never do that. :) Oh--I also have a WHITE serger, and am begging for either a Brother embroidery machine or a Kitchen Aid mixer for Chritmas.

i do not currently use a sewing machine i had bought two of the little minature ones from walmart that cost about fifteen dollars a piece and neither of them work i learned the hard way that you get what you pay for when it comes to sewing machines and i just do not have the money to spend on a good expensive sewing machine i think some of the older sewing machines are the best ones i think they are more reliably made
