Coffee Side Effects?

I was wondering if drinking coffee makes anyone else lightheaded? It seems every time I have a cup of coffee I always feel slightly lightheaded/dizzy afterwards. And for some reason it seems to mostly only be regular hot coffee and not iced-coffee. Any thoughts on this?

I'm the opposite. I find that I get some side effects if I don't drink coffee. Then comes the light-headedness and a headache. I'm not even sure it's the caffeine because I can try to drink tea or pop as a replacement but I'll still get the headache.

Have you tried Mountain Dew?
It's probably the closest pop that you can get compared to coffee.

I drink 2 or 3 12 cup pots of coffee a day and I dont experence this, however, I'm sure I have developed some immune to it.
I know when I first started drinking coffee, I could defenatly feel the caffeene in my system. I dont feel that anymore.
Maybe if you want to drink coffee, you should make it less potent by mixing a half cup of brewed coffee with a half cup of hot water. You could also do a half cup of brewed coffee with a half cup of brewed hot chocolate (MMMMMM).
Maybe you just shouldnt drink coffee. It's not really good for you anyway.

Woah! That's a lot of coffee! I use to drink that much years ago when I was a secretary (darn free coffee!) but now I only have a cup or two a week if that so maybe my body just isn't use to that much caffeine, especially since all I drink everyday all days is water and never any soda or anything. The only reason I have coffee is on the weekend when my son gets up REALLY early and I'm dragging.

Yea, it's mostly to keep me going all day and night.
We have 2 little girls and they like to stay up late and get up early, plus I work on websites.
Trying to balance the girls while working just doesnt seem to go to well, so, I usually end up working about 1am - 5 or 6 am then I am back up with the girls around 8 or 9am.
Children can be fun, huh?

Yikes, that's quite the schedule you have there! I only have one 19 month old son (who's sick right now so he's even more of a handful). I'm a stay-at-home mom and though I love it dearly, there are days when he's up every hour at night and doesn't nap during the day that I feel like I need to just hook up an IV of coffee to myself!

Could it not be the coffee but the sweetner you use? What you are experiencing sounds like what I get when I drink anything that has Aspartame in it.

I agree. Must be the caffine in the coffee then. Do you have that problem when you drink anything caffinated? You may just be sensitive to the caffine.

I very much doubt it, I only use regular white sugar and if I was having a reaction to that I'd be having it a lot more because I use the same sugar in a lot of other things.

At first I was thinking maybe it was the caffeine in it, but I don't get that reaction when I drink any other caffeinated beverages like soda.

Doesn't caffeine cause blood vessels to dialate? If that is happening to you maybe your blood flow is being effected, which in turn could cause dizziness?

It does that to me, too. It also makes me irritable if they forget to make it decaf. I try not to drink much, but I am a Starbuck's junky.
