I just stumbled upon this website and wanted to know what exactly is it. I love art and I love the art on it and want to become part of their community, but I don't know exactly how digital art works. What progam do you need to do it? Is it all digital art on their website or can you put regular pictures on it?

Deviantart is a great site for uploading and sharing your artwork! There are so many types of art that you can upload; digital, drawings, poetry, literature, photograhpy, you name it. You don't necessarily have to upload all digital art, but the program one of my friends uses is GIMP and some version of photoshop.

There are actually several categories on which you can post your work on like digital art, traditional art (freehand sketches, painting), photography, poetry, and a lot more, basically things that are related to art. I have an account which I haven't really uploaded on lately, I have more stuff on photography... if you have time you can visit www.turtz.deviantart.com

Can you also sell art on there too? And if so, how does that work?

i absolutely LOVE deviantart! i had been submitting my art to elfwood.com but it always took forever to be approved, and then i found DA which has been such a blessing!! you can pretty much submit any kind of art.. i submit mainly traditional art since i dont have the programs for digital art (none the less a tablet for it) but i know alot of ppl use photoshop for digital art.. if u want to sell some of your stuff DA does have the option to sell prints, though unless u pay for a print account ull make very very minimal money.. so for that id suggest looking into www.cafepress.com i have a cafepress store and it does pretty well for the most part.

You can sell prints of your artwork. For that you need to submit your artwork for print. prices depend on print size.
