windows vs linux

im not so familiar with linux. can anyone help me what are advantages or disadvantages between the two?

your right! 1 thing linux is far advantageous to windows is because its FREE! ;)

lol i love that ...free.... but is it easy to use??? GUI and all..i have not tried it .. now i will coz its free

advantages of windows
1. more user friendly
2. quick help
3. easy networking
4. almost softwares support windows
disadvantage
1. virus threat
advantage of linux
1. more security
2. better resolution
disadvantage
1. not user friendly
2. more complex than windows

hi linux is virus free operating system
but windows not
security is more in linux system

Microsoft always make there softwares more GUI (Graphical User Interface) based. So, windows is much easier to use than linux. If a user first time on a windows based pc, he can also run windows very easily. also if an experienced user of windows works on linux based pc he definitely have problems to run it.

I like linux a lot but a disadvantage when using it was that most of the programs that i use were only programmed for windows and i had to find an open source alternative like OpenOffice in place of Microsoft Office.
