Morning all,
I'm a "newbie" here, and only now beginning to uncover secrets of how income happens on this site. I've read the disclaimers about sponser supported site, and others posts (There are Hundreds) relating to mylot and income, and I wonder in a general sense WHO ACTUALLY DEPENDS on MyLot, for income.
With certainty I realize there are those, who by circumstance may not be able to leave home to generate income (Work) while others, (Like me) may spend an inordinate amount of time on the comp anyway, so why not spend it here. I am able, and willing to work away from here, but spend time here, and elsewhere on the WWW simply to pass time, post notes, write out thoughts to use at a later time for a book or story, or simple daily blog.
I post to a few other sites that don't pay, and I do it, NOT for income anyway. I do note on the other sites, many inane posts, and I'm sure there are some on this site, that are only posted to add a half penny to an account? I guess that's part of my confusion. "What does one believe they are "Worth" on any levels, and do they actually hope to have that affirmed in a situation like this?
Obviously to come here ones motives may be varied, not just focused on $1 per day. Many come to learn; others to teach, advise, Help; seek out new connections in the billions of people who also inhabit this globe. Some come to vent; others to be entertained; and many times, time here, is just a way to pass time.
With all due respect I note that there are many here with high number "Scores" and post validly. Some post in the form of a Diary or journal, or perhaps more; A newsletter. I wonder of those established people here, what might be a percentage of posts designed to help or learn, or connect with an online buddy thousands of miles away,,, and how many post, simply to boost "Numbers."
G'Day mates.

I think that only people who are actually make money are moderators and owners.
I am pretty new here too. I am not looking at this as material support, it just happened that I have time to browse online and talk to people. I'v got an idea, though. More friends you have, more money you make. I guess, if you invite about 50 people, and all of them are earning points,
than your income will become steady.

Thanks, and while I agree in part with regard to volume, I personally consider "Friends" more a quality issue than a quantity one. I'm pretty much ok with my lot (no pun) as is, and enjoy viewing and sharing, even if it "costs" me.
I guess as much as I'm curious about the Mystery of the vagueness of this, I'm also intrigued and interested about what others expectations are, as well as aspirations and goals.
Good on ya. Smiles. I wish you success, however you define it.

I think it boils down to what you want from the internet and then choosing the right venue for you. I come on here to make a bit of pocket change. I like people and so I socialize and get a bit for it. The work is not demanding. Now for serious stuff I do not let go undone because of this site. I am a writer so I send my work out to real paying magazines, and I run my own newsletter for writers as well.
