i'm closer to my grandparents. i didn't get along with my parents and i moved around a lot as a child to relatives and friends and foster homes. i lived with my grandparents for a while. they are the only people in my family that i get along with.

unfortunately, i didn't get much to interact with my grandparents. its not they are not loving and warm-hearted but they live very far away from where i live. while growing up i interacted with my parents, sisters and a handful of friends. may be that's why i am more closer to my parents than my grandparents.

When i was a kid i used to be closer to my grandparents because they were more understanding and loving. They were not strict and they always used to take our side. My parents were much strict with us and obviously they care for us better. But now i like both my parents and my grandparents.

I was very close to my grandfather when he was alive. I spend a lot of time with him. After his passing my mom and I became very close. We are still very close. I was also close to my grandmother. I come from a very close family in general. I was raised with my two cousins so we are more like brother and sister than cousins.

well i guess it depends on who you grow up with mainly. Some people spend more time of their childhood with their grandparents than with their own parents, so that can lead to have stronger bonds with them. In my case i have grown up with my parents and i can say that i am closer to them than to my grandparents...anyway it's a totally different relationship so i doubt they can be compared.

Actually im alot closer to my aunt/uncle and 3 of my 12 cousins. My life growing up wasnt that great, my parents didnt treat me that well, they still dont. My aunt/uncle and cousins have showed me more love and respect.
they now live and florida and i cant wait to see them again.

I get along more with my parents. I don't really grew up with my grandfolks. And I spend a lot of family time with my parents being an only child so it's really the reason for the close family ties.

My four grandparents have each passed on as has my Father. I was very close to my grandparents, and during some of the time...I may have actually been closer to them than my own parents. But as they passed and I grew older I became very close to my parents and I remain extremely close to my Mother (as well as my siblings...including their spouses which I think of as siblings too).

I am closer to both. My grandmother used to tell us stories when we were little and she would counsel us and play with us a lot. My mother is very understanding and we talk a lot. My father was very playful and I would be with him watching TV about boxing and whenever there was the Miss Universe or Miss America pageant I would watch it with him.

My grandparents raised me, so I'm closer to them than I am to my parents. I live with my dad now, but haven't heard from my mom since I was 11 or so. But in general, I'm a pretty reclusive, closed person. I'm not that close to anyone in my family.
