It is DARK chocolate that is healthy for you to a certain extent. Like everything, moderation is the key. Sitting down and eating a box of chocolates is not going to make you live longer. In fact it would probably shorten it. The sugar can bring up issues like diabetes and obesity which can result in heart disease.

Very true! It's crazy the way some people misread the headlines and believe that all chocoaltes are good! The only good chocolate is the dark kind, and if you mix it with milk the effect is cancelled out, as far as I know from what I have read, so you can't even have a bite with a glass of milk!

Only the darkest pure chocolate. No sugars added which suppress the immune system for hours. The antioxidents are what is credited for the value. I wouldn't eat much of anything before an examination by a doctor. If kids are taking a test then a protein type snack would be better. Or a piece of fruit.

I've heard that dark chocolate especially has antioxidants that are good for your heart and cancer prevention. I know that chocolate stimulates the brain to release opiates which make you feel pleasure and contentment. Dark chocolate has less sugar and fat but I still would only make it an occasional treat because it still has sugar and caffeine.

You have to be careful with this one. Scientific studies have confirmed that DARK chocolate eaten in small amounts (1 ounce per day maximum) has health benefits on the heart, blood vessels, and cholesterol levels. Remember that the key is the SMALL amount, and also the fact that it is dark chocolate only. Although I love dark chocolate, a 1 ounce serving is very small... Most kids do not like dark chocolate; they prefer milk chocolate, which has NONE of the above health benefits.

Not all chocolates are healthy. Only dark chocolate has been found to have health benefits.

yes! chocolates can help to uplift your mood!Chocolates contain Tryptophan a chemical the brain uses to produce serotonin.Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that has proven to be an antidepressant.Chocolates also help you to concentrate because there is caffine like stimulant called theobromine present in them.So I think it is good for children to take chocolates before exams.
