i feel so proud and happy coz my sister walked the isle before i did. she was one of my bride's maids and she was really excited and happy about it. my sister, cannot speak but she mumble words and she can utter few words when she sings. she loves humming and she smiles a lot. you can't communicate with her like normal people do but she's very affectionate and very loving. when I bought her gown, she was so thrilled, she didn't say it though but you can see it through her actions. When she got it, she clapped her hands with her mouth open and kept on jumping=) when she tried it on, she just stared at herself in the mirror and continously clapped her hands. she also turned around to check if it fits her well. she loves dressing up! When she was done fitting it she neatly placed it on a hanger and put it in her cabinet and then after a few minutes she took it again looked at it and fixed it neatly... she kept on doing this the whole day smiling. I feel so happy because she was so delighted. On the wedding day, she was really excited having the make up and getting her hair done... she also helped me fix the flowers coz she loves flowers too. I am proud of her because she was so behaved during the entire ceremony, she walked as if she was a true lady... you wouldn't even think that she has autism coz she looked straight at the altar. I really love my sister! She's 15 and she's still our baby and angel!

i really think we're luckier to have her... when things are not going well at home, she never fails to make us smile everytime she hums her favorite song. She is an angel!

I'm really thrilled to read this, it's really nice of you to have so much concern for your sister, children with autism usually are very affectionate, I'm really happy you gave her an opportunity to be your bridesmaid, it is really kind of you, God will bless you for your concern for your sister, I am a mom of a son with autism.

Congratulations for having such a wonderful sister who supports and loves you so much. The way you talk about her here, she is not an autistic but, a child so pure in heart she wishes nothing for the love ones of her life but, their happiness which comes out flowing from her heart as she had showed you all throughout your wedding from preparations until culmination of it. Best wishes for you and your husband on this wedded bliss and kisses for your sister.

Sometimes just because others view the world differntly they are judged in a way that is negative. You and your family seem to have the blessing of knowing that being different doesn't mean that there i no love, and often there is so much more love.
I sometimes think when I meet people of various disabiities, how amazing they are, because they can find happiness in things that would be over looked by others, there is a capacity to love that is so deep.
Perhaps they may be "missing" somethings due to their disabilities, but if people would take five minutes away from prejudging the situation, they may find how much love and beauty can be found in the world just by looking at it with a fresh perspective, looking at with eyes that can find so much joy and excitment in a new lovely gown, in sharing the time of helping with the flowers with someone special.
Your sister may be the one with autism, but so many people could learn so much from her example.

That is truly a wonderful sotry - and your sister looks so very happy! I'm glad she was able to be a part of the wedding, and I'm sure that she is too, even if she cannot say it.
