Don't you find discussions that are asking questions like this really hard to answer? I wonder why people do it as they surely can't get many responses.
I wonder how many people will answer the question in the title and not read the whole discussion it will be interesting to see.
Would you rate someone negatively if you had written this discussion and they answered the question at the top and therefore didn't read the whole thing?

You made a really good point michelledarcy!! There are lots of members who started this kind of discussion and it was flocked by responds.
As for me I never posted in that discussion for I knew it will it not do me good in the future, and before I posted in any discussion I really see to it I read the description of the discussion in able for me to understand what the discussion is all about.

No, i never rated negatively to anyone and 2ndly, i never start discussion in this way that my title says something else and details something else. I always write details of my title so that if anyone do n't read my whole discussion, he/she may too get cents for answering me but u r right, people like to answer such easy questions but seldom people r over-smart like u here, who'll tell different title & different details. Lolz. Good way of checking people that how much they read discussions.

I think people feel that if they start a thread with lots of replies they will earn money, and the classic "what's your favourite colour" question, is easy to answer. I guess they also think that starting a topic with a one line question will add to their post count too. And yes - I guess - being a hard, and horrible person, - LOL - I may Neg Rate for someone not even bothering to read my discussion before answering.
Oh - and by the way - my favourite colour is any shade of mauve or lilac!

Green! No, seriously, I agree with you. I might rate them negatively out of frustration. I post sometimes asking for something specific and get NO responses that answer my original question.
What I don't understand is why people would post things as inane as this anyway? Who wants to go through 120 responses that answer alternatively- blue, red, yellow, blue, purple... etc. It's not a discussion people!

I think if the people post the discussion and they have thread with lots of replies they will earn money, and this is simple and classic question "what's your favourite colour"? , it is easy to answer. I guess they also think that starting a topic with a one line question will add to their post count too.
by the way , my favourite colour is any blue

I usually don't respond to discussions that have simple answers like that. It's so easy to answer something as simple as "what's your favourite colour?" or "how old are you?". They don't make you think, and personally, I like questions, or discussions that make me use my head.
ps. My favourite colour is green. ;)

NO I would NEVER rate negative. I'm sure it costs me a day of wages of pay for doing one negative NEVER again.
I'm trying to get what this is about. I am assuming you want people to pay attention to the whole thing not just the title of the discussion (not my fault they change that around a lot!)
And to answer the beginning of this. My favorite color is pink :)) even if you dont care to know

Thats an interesting topic!!! and an interesting discussion too!!! though being different ... they are interesting and eye catching ;)
First
My Fav. colour's are blue, white and black.
Second
I am not among those who would answer the questoin depending on the title itself...
I have had some reaaaaaaally silly answers in past ... possibly they had perceived it terribly wrong... and later on i realised that they just wanted to earn some bucks afterall...

I hate when people post topics like that. What do you like better, black or white? And then you open it up and the description part is the same exact thing. It doesn't have any depth whatsoever. I don't answer those things. I wouldn't know how to. What could I say? "I like the color purple, because it's pretty." ..what a response eh.

People write these discussions because they naively think it's going to make them money. I find that those who write questions like this write terrible short one sentence discussions and then go on to do like 100 of them in the hopes of making more money. It seems not enough of them read the rules of Quality over Quantity.
I wouldn't rate anyone negative if they'd just answered the question at the top and not the whole thing, because they did at least get the question lol. However, it's good manners to read the whole thing, and its something that some people seem to have trouble with.
And just as a FYI - my favorite color is Purple :P

I never responed to this what your favourite color kind of discussion. I don't rate them negative. If we all ignore this kind of discussions they will learn the lesson I think.
Some people don't read the discussion and just post something irelevant that makes me irritate. If you can't take the time to read, why bother to respond. Sometime I give negative rating when people just go away from limit.

My favorite color is red.
Oh was I suppose to actually read your discussion? I think that the ones that start these types of questions clearly didn't read the guidelines nor the people that respond in them. Sisnce the guidelines specifically to not start or respond to discussions that only require a 1 word response.
Would I rate them negatively, yes I probably would, if they didn't take the time to read the discussion, then I know they didn't take the time to read the responses prior to answering my discussion. Although if they put effort in writing their response, about their favorite color I might be persuaded to rate it positively. Just my 2 cents worth. :)

I find many questions here that I find hard to answer. I only try to answer those questions that I really have something to answer. I have one discussion which didn't even have any response maybe because the question is hard to answer. This is a good thought, maybe I wouldn't pose questions or discussions as hard as that one and I wouldn't rate one negative for just giving the wrong answer because there is the possibility that the person didn't really understand my question too.
