basically becasuse we are capable to feel emotions. and love is part of it...
romantically speaking...we love bec first, we are attracted to the person, then wtih proxinity it develops, thats why "dating" exists. the more close you get, the more your feelings develop. but only to a certain point. (every feeling ceases though)
scientifically speaking (correct me if i am wrong) the part of our brain, which is the hypothalamus is the one responsible for this emotion we so call "love"
so we feel love bec of interaction and biological reasons...to sum it..because we are humans..

We love because we are given the ability to feel emotions. Love is gracious and leads one towards goodness. This is why we choose to love and not hate. =)
