OK, now this is five hundred and two, I am wondering if this will have an effect on whether or not my totals will change. I am still showing four hundred and ninety nine. Anyone out there have any ideas why my numbers didn't change...SS

I replied to your other discussion to congratulate you on reaching 500. It still said you were 499, but after my reply posted, your number changed. Now this one, still shows you at 500...maybe the mylots program software just needs to catch up!

I think my excitement at finally reaching 500 got the best of me...I guess I was a little anxious about wanting to see my numbers change.I think I reacted a little like my grandson...very impatiently...thanks for responding...SS

Yeh, MyLot is screwed up dear. Glitches, and it happens all the time. Or, the next day they remove them, after you made them. Now you are up to 533, so I hope it is okay now.

Yeh...I have learned...it was a dose of MyLot reality. And as a result I have learned what to expect the next time I make an announcement about any accomplishment I achieve here on MyLot. It was a learning experience for me and because of the responses I have also learned of others experiences...all in all...I learned a great deal from what happened...thanks much...SS

Firstly congratulations because I can see that you have passed the magical number of 500 posts SunlightSwoon. There can be a few things which affect the rating (as distinct from the star rating) and they can include you receiving a positive rating, which increases the rating if you get so many of them, a negative rating which obviously drops your rating. Also if you have responded to any discussion which has been deleted, then your rating will drop as it really is a case of "no discussion, no responses" as they are all deleted. The other thing is if a member is banned, then all their discussions and/or responses disappear as well. Again if you have responded to a discussion from any of those people who are banned, then your rating will drop. It actually happened to a considerable number of people last October/November when myLot deleted literally thousands of discussions and also banned a large number of members for cheating and spamming. So anyone who had responded to any of those discussions also lost rating. I was one of those in fact and it was because a couple of people who were on my list of friends either were banned or had discussions deleted. Now, I never respond to "nothing" discussions, but still that is what happens. At the same time many of these people had obviously responded to my discussions, and their posts were deleted. It was painful enough for me as my rating dropped by about 50 points but a few people actually lost a considerable amount more. The most I saw was actually someone on my friends list who dropped in excess of 1000. That was the last time he was here on myLot as far as I know. It could also be that sometimes the system just doesn't respond quickly but it will hopefully catch up at a later time, i.e. not too late but sometime during the same day. So, you see there are many reasons why ratings might change without you doing anything at that exact time. :)

Losing 50 points is devastating, but to lose a 1000 points because of someone else's dishonesty is shattering. There are a number of things that I enjoy about this site, naturally the earnings, also developing such a large friendship circle and watching my NUMBERS grow. After all that represents a huge investment of time...of thought...and involvement. Gosh there should be a better way of dealing with anyone that gets unintentually entangled in someone else's dishonesty. That was just so unfair. Thanks for the congrats and the info...SS

Well, I found out that my post about reaching the '500' mark was the reason for what appeared to be a glitch. So when I reach a '1000' I know what to expect, I know I will probably make a big announcement, so whether or not it is acknowledged by MyLot it will not matter, I will still share my happiness...thanks for your comment Lilac...SS

You're now showing 506 - perhaps there was a glitch somewhere! My earnings aren't up to date, so I wouldn't worry. Things get sorted in the end.

The glitch was MyLots objection to that post, but when I reach my next milestone...I know what to expect and I won't let there response taint my elations...thanks for the support...SS
