well i was out eating at a resturant, and a family that had their son killed in a car wreck from what i could hear(not sease dropping they were just loud, kinda hard to ignore), and the father burst out and says he killed my son, so the son of a ***** should die too, and that's what i am gonna push for, now my thinking at the table was maybe he has a point, but then again, what happened to the bartender who kept serving the man drinks or the friend who didn't take the keys or the sheriff who passed him driving down the wrong side of the rode........should they get some of the blame?
or is a eye for a eye sufficient?

A line from one of my favourite movies, Fiddler On The Roof, says it all.
"An eyes for an eye, a tooth for a tooth... then the entire world would be blind and toothless."

Everyone has to be held accountable for their actions, even if they are under the influenece. If the person that killed the man has any morals he will have to live with the fact that he killed someone for the rest of his life. I am not saying that is suitable punishment but isn't it better to have someone 'pay' for their crime by living with the guilt of it than just putting them out of their misery.
On a side note, there could be more to the story than what you caught. Circumstances surrounding it aren't known so you can't say that the person deserves to die. Now, if someone just walked into a fast food place and started shooting innocent people, yes, that's grounds for execution.

That's a hard question really, I think like in this case that if the guy was killed by a drunk driver no it shouldn't be an eye for an eye because even if the guy was drunk he didn't kill someone on purpose (no he shouldn't have been driving at all) but it was an accident and he will have to live with that for the rest of his life!! Now if someone for instance a drive by shooting gang member kills someone then eye for and eye exact should be the punishment because it was done on purpose, and a rapist or child molester should be casturated etc. So I think an eye for an eye if the damage was done intentially and if its an accident not eye for an eye.
