Are my cats gay?

I have two male cats - Benjamin and Jacob. It seems like they are always snuggled up together for their naps. I know they have a very strong bond with each other. But is it possible that my cats are gay?

I doubt it. Animals like sleeping together, its warm and cozy. My two dogs sleep together, and sometimes my cat with them.

Doubtful. Unless you see one trying to mount the other and both seeming to enjoy it, it's probably just them being friendly and sharing a warm, cozy spot to nap together. Cats like to cuddle and cuddling with other cats or humans is warm and cozy for them.

We have several cats at our house and all of them currently are male. We have an old chair outside and all of them will pile into the chair and sleep together. It's quite cute to watch, especially when the kittens are on top of the older cats completely passed out.

You make a good point there. They are both 'fixed' but I suppose that would not stop the urge.

LOL! Thanks for the laugh today. This thought never crossed my mind but I suppose if your cats are gay then my dog and cat are too. They are both female and love to snuggle together.

Lesbians in a multi-species relationship....that trumps my gay-boy kitties.

haha, they could be :) Its probably just sibling love. Animals of all varities tend to cuddle and love on eachother. There was a video a while back about that.

Thank goodness - they aren't siblings. I wouldn't even want to think about that....

I wouldn't worry about it. Animals aren't like people, they might even seem to "mount" another, but that is also a show of dominance. Heck, the roomie's female dog has tried to "mount" some of my cats - even male ones. Pong used to grab his brother by the scruff and kneed on him, he scruffed him, just to keep him from leaving. Once Ping got big enough to break away, he put a stop to it. Now Pong & Timus are cuddling/grooming each other.

I'm not worried about it - - I'm okay with them being gay or straight. I just want to know if there's something there or what. Your pets sound like a fun bunch.

No your cats are not gay! ROTFLMAO! My cats snuggle all the time and they even clean each other. This is just normal cat behaviour. Thanks for the laugh.

Dang! I was really hoping I could get them an agent and a feature with the tabloids! I guess there won't be an interview on "Extra" or "The Insider" for this momma.

I wouldent worry about it too much. Cats want to keep warm and cuddling up with another gives them that opportunity.

They probably just enjoy each other's company, and the body heat. But, it's been documented that animals can be gay. I just did a search on cha cha for this last night, can't find the link I sent, but they mentioned about the penguins at a zoo. The 2 males even took care of a baby penguin. Here's one site I'd found: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/07/0722_040722_gayanimal.html
