Who would have thought-- I don't think it sounds very good.. But I'm always looking for new ways to do things with mashed potatoes. I absolutley love Applebee's smashed potatoes.. Red potatoes - leave the skins on- mash them and add parsley-- anyone know what else is in them?
I've tried to make them and they never taste the same..
I'm going to ask my daughter if she wants to try mashed potatoes on toast? She is a potato lover!

Mashed potatoes are one of the ultimate comfort foods and I imagine how you like your spuds mashed is highly influenced by the style of potatoes you were served as a kid.
Think about it. What comes to mind when you think of ways to describe mashed potatoes?
Some of the more positive descriptions might be creamy, smooth, rich, textured, flavorful, buttery, fluffy, light, potato tasting.
Or maybe you weren't so lucky and were served lumpy, bland, watery, dry, gummy, pasty, starchy, heavy, gloppy potatoes. Sound familiar, I'm sure there are many more way to describe mashed spuds, but this should do for now.
I personally like mine dense, smooth, buttery but where you can still taste the potato. I have friends who like them rich and creamy but with a little texture. Think about how you like your mashed potatoes.

Mashed potato's have got to be one of my all time favourite foods. All of my kids love them too. They never get wasted either, on the rare occasion when they don't all get used for dinner the left overs always get used up either later that night or the next day.
Thanks for the link I have added it to favourites so I can have a better look later as I'm sure there will be some stuff on there that he kids will love.

Very nice of you to share. This is a big help when you've had people in for a meal and have too many potatoes left over. Haven't you noticed potatoes are something you never seems to get just right when cooking for extra people. I've been caught trying to decide I wonder is this too much potatoe or is this enough ? Also when mashing it takes more. So Thanks and Take Care...
