Ok, so what is with this russian chick?

How can a girl who seems to hardly be able to speak English be "America's" Next Top Model? Honestly, I don't care that she's from russia, but it's only been an hour and I already can't stand her!
So who do you guys like in this one so far? 1 hour in and I like Sarah (the one with short blond hair - I pointed to her in the picture) and Kathleen (with the poofed up black hair - wearing blue in the picture) is also interesting. The two plus sized models both seem really nice so I hope they make it further than most plus sized models do. I never knew "Plus Sized" meant size 12-14, that doesn't seem very big! I wear a 6-8 so 12-14 doesn't seem that much bigger to me. Interesting!
My final note is I'm happy to see a lot of pretty girls on this episode. In previous seasons there were a lot of girls I did not find pretty and I couldn't understand that they made it so far! But in this one I thought most the girls have at least a little natural prettiness, and none of them seem to be aneroxic yet. I think this is a good pick!
So what are your thoughts on anything I said above or any other aspect of Season 8. Let's hear it!

Hey, I understand what you mean about the Russian, Natasha. She is just too annoying to me. I just don't like her. I also really don't like Renee, just because she left her baby, and she seems kind of crappy. I think that Jaslene is way to skinny too because it gives teenage and younger girls a bad idea. The idea is that you should look sick in order to be a model. So rock on you plus size models!

I'll have to pay attention tonight because I don't remember a girl being too skinny, at least not as skinny as previous seasons! I hope the plus sized models do good because I think we set a bad example by cutting them early on every season. Thanks for commenting :)

Yeah that girl with the baby - the only issue I have with that is that she JUST HAD A BABY! and she's willing to leave it for a year or more (if she were to win)?? I just don't think contestants should have kids b/c that's a lot of time to leave your child.
Hopefully the russian chick gets the boot next!

I was thinking the same thing. The russian chick is way to cocky without a good reason and she doesnt follow direction very well. I knew they were going to have two plus sized models because it would be a first and what better time to do it but now. So far I like Jaslene because when she didnt make it before I was so hurt for her. She has a great personality (so far it seems like) and it would be nice for a Latina to win too. She took a great picture and that is who I am rooting for this season. I dont really care for the Natalia or Natonya (the Russian one) or the one that used to be a photographer only because she seems to be a know-it-all and I cant stand that. I wonder who the last two be going to be the final two.

Yep that russian girl is cocky and kind of rude too! Especially when she was telling the other girl that she didn't do a fashion show. Jaslene is interesting, I think she will go far, but she has some learning to do.
I don't think we can guess the final two quite yet :) But I'll be here weekly trying to figure out who is going home! Looks like one of my favs (the Brooklyn girl) was sent home already so obviously I have no idea.

I'm really bad with names, so I'll just have to describe the girls at this point.
I agree that the women are prettier this year than in previous cycles.
What's interesting is that I think the latina girl who tried in cyle 7 and didn't make it looks like a man but she took a good picture! I was really shocked how different she looked in the picture, LOL.
I liked big poofy afro girl. She was funny to me. Sad that she left so early.
The mixed girl with the blonde hair is going to get on my nerves. I don't do well with people pleasers. Get a backbone, take a stand.
The blonde fashion photographer will also get on my nerves. She's like Jade-lite.
I don't like the girl with the baby. (I couldn't have left my 7 month old baby to model!!! WTF???)
I usually don't remember people who don't tick me off, LOL.
That's so sad.
But I'll be interested to see how the "full figured" girls do too. I think it says a lot about the fashion industry that AVERAGE SIZED women are considered plus size. Actually I think 18 is the average size for a woman these days.
I can't wait until next week!

The latina did take a good picture and it does amaze me how different the girls can look once they are on film.
Yeah that mixed girls excuse for failing was that she wanted to be liked - that was lame!
I don't think the photographer is quite as bad as Jade (I absolutely HATED Jade!)
I forgot that one girl had a baby, I actually was surprised they picked her at all.
Thanks for sharing, I'm ready for the next episode already :)

I didn't see the first half of the show, so I don't know their personal stories or whatever, but that one girl who did the "Life in Prison" shoot? I think she's awful. It seems like she thinks she's above the competition because she's modeled before. And while Kathleen was cute, she was as dumb as a box of rocks and it showed in her photos.
I'm personally very disappointed in this new batch of girls. Most of them are stupid and have really really vacant eyes in their photos. I'm very very glad they've got two plus-sized girls, but I'm disappointed in them. It seems like being plus-sized is the only thing they've got going for them. They have no personality. I was expecting women like Toccara. And yes, plus-sized actually starts at about size 10. Runway models are generally no bigger than a size 3-4.
