I love to paint with the color blue. I love painting waters, and anything that deals with it. It's just soothing to the eyes.

I paint a lot of new-school tattoo inspired stuff. Lots of bold lines, lots of bright colours. I usually paint cartoony stuff -- photorealism has never been my forte. I'm an acrylic painter. I'd love to try oils, but they're expensive and I don't have any studio space and I'm reluctant to keep oil paint and solvent in my bedroom at residence!

Quite honestly, I will paint anything that will be still for an hour or so. My favorite method of painting is more of a traditional underpainting with layers. I am very fond of classical art methods. At the same time, I like fantastical and humorous themes. The biggest reason I do not do abstract is because I am not very good at them.
My favorite color to paint with is umbers. I am fascinated with the manipulations that can be made from warm to cool with just a touch of another color.

Hi! I noticed you posted this months ago, but I just stumbled upon it. I love to paint in oils. I love the smell! But that's the same reason why I stopped painting, because I started a family and I didn't want my kids to smell that stuff when they were babies (we didn't have much room). They are older now and I am going to be painting again. I paint abstracts, but was taught traditionally with underpainting. I also keep water color and acrylics around just in case, but I really don't use them often - or should I say, in years. And congrats on finishing the painting of your daughter. You've probably done tons more by now.

when i got pregnant that was the first thing i asked about, if it is dangerous for my baby... and yes it was!!! I could pain, just not in a room.. it had to be outside.. so i did once and a while, but never finished anything. now with my daughter born i finished that one of her, and i just recently finished another one of her for a Christmas present to my mom.. i have a few that i have started but never finished! lol i always do that!
congrats on finally being able to paint again!!!

Thanks for leaving a note back. Last week I actually went through the painting I had. I actually had a number of those unfinished painting too. I really like where I left off though. I think I might finish them up.
