Does owning expensive things make you proud? At some point in your life, did you ever feel like having more money or valuable property will make you happy? Like having the latest gadgets and having the latest cellphone models, wearing designer label clothes, wearing expensive jewelries, driving a luxury vehicle... Do you feel better knowing that you have more in life if compared to other people? Why? please explain your answer.

My notion has always been practicality first, luxury last. I'm no brand addict, though I do have some branded things as well because of the promise of their quality and comfort. For me, there's nothing to be proud of yet because most of my branded things are gifts or bought not from my money. Maybe when I get to work one day and finally decided to spend my hard-worked money for branded things, I'll definitely be proud of it, but not brag about it.

I have my partner and our love for each other and thats all I need. Material things, no matter how expensive, don't last forever, and the fact that they're used as a sign of wealth is really rather sad. I don't need the material things in life, nor do I want them. So long as I have my man, I'm just fine.

Well that's where true happiness lies. Good thing you've already found it.

well I guessin one point everyone looks at designer clothing looks at the price, and you wanna cry.. at least I do.. I'm not huge in the whole gucci, channel or things like that to me clothes are clothes as long as I look good in them and they are comfortable I'm good to go. as for the vehicle, well I'm not much for the whole lexus, BMW thing as long as it runs and it don't look like if you touch it's gonna fall apart. as for jewlery never been the one to wear much fo it.. so no I guess I ma pretty cimple.. I do know ppl that are all for the expensive things, and it's all fine and dandy if you can appreciate them and have the money...lol

When I was younger, in my adolesence and early 20's, I remember being proud when I was able to have a few branded things and great gadgets. I even remember being caught up in that rat-race and chase for a bit. It didn't take long to realize that none of that gave me any more peace at night when I laid down to sleep. The race became very tiring and I actually remember becoming anxious and depressed by it! Over the years, I have learned that happiness and wealth are measured by the amount of frineds I have and in how I feel about MYSELF as I lay down at night. I actually feel guilty now when I look around and see people those with too little and me seemingly overly blessed! Funny how I did a 100% about face since my 20's!

I think yepp, at some point it does make me proud of having expensive thing. But i dont want too much money on expensive thing coz in fact... i can get a lot more other cheaper things with almost the same quality... Why would i waste my money just to impress others. I only buy expensive thing when i think it is really important. For electronics, i prefer the expensive one coz it is more reliable than the cheap one. For clothes, i dun really see the label. The most important thing about clothes is... it is comfortable and good-looking... ^^

For me this is very simple and basic thing. What is your priority in life. What do you value more. As for me, I am a very simple and practicle man. Take car for example. I just need a car to travel or as transport. Any good working car is fine with me. Having a very expensive and popular car like BMW or Volvo is not my priority. Furthermore, I don't have extra money meaning that I am not very rich. Unless if I am a millionaire most probably I would want those kinds of car. But since I am a principle kind of guy, I would still use normal car eventhough I have lots of money. Normally, people who buy expensive stuffs eventhough they can't afford are those going for fame and popularity. They want to belong in the elite society. In short, people have different priorities, princples and values. It is up to you to decide what kind of people are you.

I dont think I need all the material things in life. Why buy something expensive when you can have something cheaper, and its just as good. I think its funny, how people think they need the most expensive things.

I don't think owning expencive things makes me feel important or proud. What does is keeping the things I own in good shape and looking good. Just because something is expencive doesn't mean it looks good.

If ever I want to have some of it, I guess it won't matter to me if the cell phone model is quite out-of-date already because what's important to me is that atleast I have one to make good use of. Others do have the latest, but most of them if not were snatched, they get lost or even used in some nonsense things. I would be more ashamed to let everyone see or know that I may have the best and I am enjoying it, but to see others which do not have anything to put on their plate is what I think I should give more attention at. Happiness I think should be felt by everyone, and not just one's self..

Owning expensive things does not make me proud. I don't purchase goods because they are expensive but I purchase them because I really need them. For example I did not purchase a cellphone until about two months ago I reallized that I really need a cellphone. I did not also purchase the latest model or the model which was really expensive but I purchased the one which fits my needs.

nope,,,,although i have such ambitions like owning car, travel around the world with my family, etc...as a matter of fact i hate to see rich people who were underestimating the poor one like me, you can't bring your gadgets, luxury cars and houses to hell or heaven right????
