What do you think of this years American Idol?

Well I agree that this year is a little more boring than past years, but I do think there are a few who shine. For the guys I think Blake, Phil and Chris Sligh are really great. they have great voices and can really perform. For the girls I think Lakisha and Melinda both really shine. In fact I think those two are heaps above the rest of the contestants. I think they both could use a little bit of belief in themselves. I mean when they sing they are confident but when they aren't singing they seem to have the attitude that they aren't sure they can really sing. Lakisha could also use some help in dressing. Realistically, I think the competition could be narrowed down to these 5 because I just don't think anyone else is even close to as good as them. I have noticed that as each year goes by, I do get pickier. I think it is because I am learning different things by watching the show, you know like vocal range, tone of voice, trying to hard to sing, or then song just being too big for a person. So I think American idol is not just a reality show, but also and educational show.

Frankly, the singers suck.

I totally agree, I've been thinking that for the past week and a half. I watch it every week and yet everyone seems so forgettable, as Simon would say. I watched again last night and think that LaKeisha is amazing, but nothing we haven't seen in the music industry already. There are more than a few that I think could be eliminated right now. Then there are a few who are decent but nothing spectacular. I think the only reason someone will win, is because someone has to. If that makes sense. If there didn't have to be a winner, I think all of them would be dismissed.

For the most part, the guys are pretty sucky, and about half of the girls are sucky, but that LaKeisha is really really good, as are three or four of the others, I'm sure when they get down to six guys and six girls, america will get rid of all those guys first.
