I'm going to Vegas in April for the first time. I dont get off the block much! LOL Anyways I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on how to make the trip exciting but not expensive. We'll be staying at the Imperial Palace in the center of the strip, but I have no idea what to do or where to go when we get there. Are there any good places to eat for reasonable prices. What shows are free or cheap and exciting.

How many days are you staying? Hubby and I went in December for six glorious days. We had a blast. If you can sit through a four hour presentation for a time share, you can get free tickets to a show. Other than that, I don't know of any free shows, other than the Freemont Experience, late at night down on Freemont Street. There are tons of brochures that have discount coupons available all over town though. We stayed at the Excalibur on the Strip. The M & M Store was one of my favorite place. Also the light show at the Bellagio and the Volcano are free and really gorgeous at night. As for food, you will also find discount coupons for that. If you write to the LV Visitors Bureau they will send you a free guide to the city. Have a great trip.

Were staying for 3 nights. How could I come about this time share thing? Did you go to any bars or clubs? Did you go to any comedy shows?

We were approached and signed up when we were entering the hotel to register. The timeshare company was called Grand View, there are several other timeshares too, but I think Grand View is the best one. They have representatives all over the town, trying to get people to sign up. We almost bought one...lol. We probably will the next time we go down. We didn't get to see any comedy shows. We used our two tickets for the dinner show at the Excalibur called "Tournement of Kings", they have a jousting tournement, and the dinner is excellent. They give you a choice on several shows you can see.
