I am so sad, my little boy will be 2 years old tomorrow!! He is my last baby so everything with him s really hard for me! I know I am going to be a mess all day, crying and all...how did your kids growing up affect you? With my daughter everything is exciting because she isn't the last one...

I think you should be happy for your son reaching each birthday, I would hate to have had a mother who cried everytime I was a year older. I have 2 sons, 19 and 22 and I did think when they were little that I would miss their little selves, but they are always your babies no matter how old they get. when they get old enough if you are lucky they will give you grandchildren and you might get loads of them. for example 2 children having 2 children each means 4 grandchildren. Also they are fantastic as they grow up, I love my sons and would not want them back as babies. Try to celebrate instead of feeling sad, that is such a waste to be sad for no real reason.

Why are you going to be sad? He's made it throught the most dangerous part of living, the first two years. Most deaths in childhood occur in thefirst two years. He has survived infancy to become a child, and now his chances of living to an old age have just doubled. Besides, no matter how old he is, no matter how big he gets, he will always be your baby.

Thanks for that, I didn't think of it that way, I am just sad because he isn't tiny anymore. I love the little baby stage where you hold them all the time, I guess I will look forward to grandchildren to hold now =)

It is very hard, the first 5 years go so fast. My youngest is 4 and oldest is 15. Seems like yesterday the little one was a baby, and the oldest was her age. Makes me feel old- even though I am not that old. had kids way too young.
Seeing them grow just makes me feel old; and reminds me of how fast time really goes- especially when you get older.

There is only 1 year and 3 days between my first two kids. It seemed like just when I was getting one through something the other was getting into that level. My husband and had hadn't planned on having anymore kid and when my youngest was almost ten we had anotherone. Now I relize everything she does is going to be the last one I see do it. It is sad in a way but I wouldn't want to have anymore.

I get so sad when my kids hit milestones, I mean I am proud of them and I love them but they are 3 and 6months and I go through it already. I want a lot of kids, but you just have to think about how proud you are of them and keep teaching them and hope they grow to be wonderful people. I look at my 3 year old in awe sometimes about what a good little kid he is growing up to be but it also saddens me that he is 3! So, I know how you feel, it is enevitable that they will grow up. Just take advantage of all the time they want to spend with you now and soak it up.

It's hard but you will get through it. It's always hard watching our little ones grow up, but they have to do it. Just think of all the great times you've had this last year with him and all the great times to come!

Yes, it is all so sad, and the years are so fleeting.. Be happy you realize this, some parents just seem stressed, and may be missing a lot [I always want to tell young parents, just let go of it all, slow down, enjoy it, cause it's so fleeting] - Now that I've cheered you up so much (not!) - Just think of the grand kids! Yes, that comes real soon! And is just as much fun as your own kids, if not more so! Kids are great! And two is such a magic age. Yes, I envy you!

I still think I'm going to have one more but I know how you feel. It's so hard to see your baby growing before your eyes. With my 1st everything is new all the time. With my baby I look back and think, I don't remember much of the time. It's gone by in the blink of an eye.
