I have a scar and I don't like it too much. I have used mederma, scar zone and Palmer's Scar Serum. They all help a lot, but I can still see the scar. It has been almost two and a half years and I have been using those products for the last year and a half. How can someone get rid of a scar or make it appear very light? Are there any other products that do that? I really don't want to have another surgery to get rid of the scar;). Have a nice day and I await the responses.
Pablo
PS: The picture is not my scar, I am just providing it as an example, cheers!

Try using Rosehip Oil on the scar. It provides excellent results in the treatment of scars, nourishes the skin and cures dryness, improves burns and marks of radiotherapy. More about the benefits of rosehip oil: www.primalnature.com/rosehipoil.html and www.coventgardelife.com/rosehip/rosehip_wn/default.htm

Hm, I will have to try aloe and lemon juice then ;). And I actually have both of them in my house, too. Thank you.

I have heard the Silicone is helpful. its available either as a gel or in rubber-like sheets, and has been found to lighten and flatten scars. You apply the gel directly to the scar or use medical tape to cover the scar with the silicone sheet. It isn't known exactly how silicone helps scars heal, I have heard that static electricity from the silicone helps align collagen fibers in the scar, I have also heard it traps moisture which can help scars fade.
If over the counter treatments don't give you the result you're looking for, collagen or steroid injections may help as well as lazer treatments. These are non-evasive surgical techniques usually done in a doctors office.
I think your best source of advice would be your dermatologist or health care provider. good luck to you!

Thank you for the advice, well the products I use say they have silicone in them, I have seen the neosporan patches that have silicone in them. You are right about going to a doctor, but I really didn't want to have to pay the money and I doubt insurance would pay for it since it is "cosmetic". Thank you very much for you advice.
