Has EVERYONE tried this phenomenal music project yet?
For those who have not yet been acquainted, you are in for a very pleasant surprise if you are a music lover.
Pandora is a music discovery service that helps you find and enjoy music you love. You just need to key in a song you feel like listening, or an artist you have in mind... and voila! A "station" will be automatically created for you and you will be serenaded with songs that are similar to that you asked for.
That's right, it's just that simple; so if you haven't tried it, go try it. It's free and you don't need to install anything!
Do share your thoughts if you have tried this already, or drop a few lines when you've given it a go.

That positive rating is definitely a juicy offer that I can't resist. So please...rate me + now...Kidding aside, I haven't heard about this pandora. I will certainly give it a try. I subscribe to eMusic before, but I was having so much difficulty in choosing the songs that I want to. They contain musics from all over the world. It will usually take me hours to be able to choose one. Too much wasted time and effort. I will not recommend it. By the way, where do I go from here. Should I type pandora or something.

I am one such music lover. I haven't heard of this music project. Pls tell me music in what language can I hear? Is it for western music only? I would love to hear eastern music and instrumental music also. Is this possible?

Well, I did a search for Pipeline, which is one of my favorite instrumentals, and it had it. So I would say, it probably includes insturmetal pieces as well as lyriced pieces.

Wow wow, I am glad to hear that Pandora is up to your expectation (though I have nothing to do with the Pandora project:P)!
So, it includes instrumental as well. Nice. I normally just tune in to my radio station for the occasional classical so I wouldn't have any names regarding instrumental to test with. :P

I would want to think that the language scope will be expanded in future but only the creator of the site will know. For now, it's limited to English songs only, unfortunately. But they do have MANY songs - I would hazard to guess that it is probably the most comprehensive music library on the Internet.
I haven't tried keying in titles for instrumental music.. perhaps you can try it and let us know? :P

I just checked it out. It´s brilliant. Absolutely loved it. It´s fast, took only a few seconds to find the songs I´ve chosen. I´m wicked, I´ve chosen two generally unknown tracks and thought that no results would show up. Well, I was wrong.
I will definately register.

You enter a song and they will play songs LIKE the one you entered. But just have a little patience, they WILL play the song you specifically entered. The order and sequence and everything is totally random.
Every time you log in again, or restart the station, you don't get the songs in the same order.
If you want to, you can also enter several songs to make up one station. You have to experiment a little - though sometimes what they play do not seem to match what you entered, most of the time it does. You just need to play around and hit the right song. Remember that you can choose by artist too.

Is this available internationally? I have just checked the website and I need to have a zip code to register. What a disappointment! I thought I was going to spend the day listening to my favourite music...unless I am doing something wrong. I am living in Ireland.

You can play 10 songs free if you don't register. At the moment you need to be in US to get a username. It's very easy... all you need is a zip code.

I love it. I tried it a while ago for the first time. its awesome. I can't believe no one thought to compile that kind of project before. I have found numerous bands or groups that I like that I probably never would have found because of it.

do you know how often ive wanted something like that?
I would find myself in the mood for a song but cant think of anything else to go with it and so my music would just stop, wow
I think when I get the sound finally working on my computer again I will definately have to check it out

The good thing about Pandora is that it is free and you get to listen to many songs of the genre you like. Something like a radio but you get to choose a bit more selectively.
And you don't need to buy the songs you want with money from your own pockets, neither do you need to resort to piracy since this pandora is perfectly legal. ;-)

I look forward to playing around with this a bit more, but as it stands, it's shaping up very well based on what I put into it. And it seems to provide several controls for tweaking your stations a bit, so it all looks good. :)

Seriously though, I've never heard of this Pandora before, and I'll definitely check it out. It sounds pretty awesome.
Does it actually play the songs you request or just songs LIKE those that you request?
It would also be helpful if you have a link or something for us to go check it out. Otherwise, we'll all be doing searches and not quite knowing what we're looking for, we could end up getting a little bit confused.
Thanks for sharing though. It definitely sounds intriguing!

Yes I made a boo-boo as mentioned in response #1.
Yes it plays the songs LIKE the one you request - but the song you requested WILL be played.. just not immediately.
The website is www.pandora.com and there is no way for me to redeem myself properly because I cannot edit my post. :(
So... try it, you won't be disappointed. :P

My husband was using a few months ago. I kept forgetting the name of it during the day and have not yet tried it out myself. I guess with all the great reviews here, he may have been on to something. I'll try to remember to try it Monday instead of the local radio station.

Pandora is the greatest site I now of. My brother told me about them. I have been listening to a Quickmix of Nate Dogg and Warren G for days now and it hasn't gotten old yet. I love Pandora!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup Love it. My workmate showed it to me a few month back and it's awesome to be able to access all genre's. I love latin music but I don't always know the name of so its great way that I can have a station for it. Simply beautiful!

I've been using pandora for a long while now. I really love it. I've found some really great music through this website. The only thing that would make it better is if they had it in a stand alone software application instead of having to go to their website to listen.
