Do you frame up your 1st paycheck?

Whhoop! It seems that my payout is secured and I will definitely get some money come next month. I have posted a screenshot of my earnings so far and you can check it out below. ;-)
But no, before you chuck this post aside, this discussion is not really about myLot.
What I am interested to know is what you did with your first paycheck? And by your first paycheck, I don't mean your 10 bucks or so at myLot. Instead, think back to the very first real job you had... the very first paycheck you received.
I am sure most of us would attach special significance to our first job - after all, it is the very first one on our career path, and a first remains a first forever. :P
For me, my first real job was a sales position at a multi-national company. I was pretty much happy when I received my first month's pay and I can still vaguely remember the anticipation I was feeling.
One thing that marred the joy somewhat was that it came in the form of a telegraphic fund transfer. Though I received a payslip, there was no real physical cheque I can frame up or at least frame up a picture of. All I had was a single line on my bank statement of accounts (how boring :P).
So how was it for you? What was your first job? Did you receive a real physical cheque? What did you do with it? Do share about these, and any other thoughts you might have on this matter.
Oh yes, as per my solemn wizard's promise as stated on my profile page, all responses will be rated and they will automatically receive a "+" rating unless.. :P

Hi,
I started working from 1994, my first job was an investigator with on pvt company, which used to take surveys from ppl in general and some times particular, I was there Investigator, we have to for 20 days in month, to secure our pay checks, and also it was basically a target oriented job, which reqired atleast 2o investigations in a parti cular day,
firstly, it used to be a tough job to introgate ppl for 30 mins but gradually it came in habit, and afterwords we become habitual to introgate the things in general.
well some how I completed my first month, but i was unable to reach the desired target of the company,
but they were pleased with my efforts, and awarded me with my first chaeck aPhysical cheque, with a pay slip which has breakups of the payments I had earned.
ths was what i have with my first salary cheque.
how do u feel abt this,
regrds,
Efunds.

Lol... now you're talking history! When I started work, there were no pay cheques... I got cash, and very little of it, in a brown wages envelope with a pay slip, showing my gross earnings, national health insurance deductions and tax, with the total net pay at the bottom. This was the amount in the packet. Of course, the cost of living was much lower in those days as were the wages, but I think we valued things a lot more. I have all my pay slips in a file to this day! Amazing what we have to do "in case", isn't it. I never framed any though... frames are for my certificates. :-)
Brightest Blessings my friend.

Well, a brown envelope wouldn't qualify as one if there is no cash inside. ;P

Well with my first paycheck I really don't remember what I did with it, cause I basically just put it away and did not really spend it on anything special... But the one thing that I remembered was when I won a painting competition then I was awarded 5k in peso. Half was given to me in cash in preparation for the framing and the like, then the following half was given in check when I submitted the framed entry for exhibit in the museum. It felt like my first paycheck, and I scanned thtat check for remembrance.

Hello wizard, I actually started earning money as young as 5 years old. I was recruited by a ballet company and from there, I began to receive payment every month. It was not much then. I was 15 when I began to travel with the company. That's when I started receiving higher amount. Each states or cities we went, we automatically earned $100. I retired at the age of 21 because of my studies. When I worked in another company after I graduated, I remember the feeling of euphoria when I got my first real hard-earned money. My eyes nearly popped out seeing my first $500. Sorry, but I wasn't able to frame all my payment slip. All our salaries were deposited directly to our ATM. But how on earth did you earned that much here at mylot. You're here for about 7 days only. I think you're still typing even when sleeping. LOL...get some rest will you. Better take care of your health.

I got my first job when I was 11 years old. I went to work at the family restaurant that my mother managed. My family was good friends with the owner. I always got paid with cash because it wasn't legal to have an 11 year old work there. Geez, I just admitted to breaking the law. Oh well, anyway I always gave the money I made to my mom to help her pay bills.

Never gave it a second thought I cashed the sucker. I was 16. I loved shoes and clothes back then so I am sure that is where it went!

A paycheck appears to be an american thing, which never caught on here. For many years I was paid in cash, after which it became common practice to have wages paid direct into a bank account.
When I think back to my first job I realise how much trust existed. I was paid directly from my employer's wallet each week and there was never any request to sign for the money etcetera. I doubt if this system would work nowadays, although it was not unusual at the time.

I got my first paycheck working at JoAnn Fabrics..
Under Inventory, and what I did with it was spent it on Cat supplies, and brought gifts for everyone at x-mas...
And had the rest of it saved.. but it got stolen...
Right now all I been earning I have had my heart set on my grandpas old house. But it seems impossible to be able to earn enough for it by the end of this month. No way could I make a single payment, and then I don't even know about insurance either... - DNatureofDTrain

It was such a long way back when I received my first paycheck that there was no such thing as electronic transfers. I received £25 (approiximately $50)in cash for one months work and I dashed home to give it to my mum. She kept £15 out of it and gave the rest back to me. It was quite a lot of money back in the sixties so I splashed out on some new clothes. From then on, I started to save until I had enough to buy a car...a little Fiat Bambino!

I think your idea is very good and positive. I just viewed your March earnings and it is very encouraging. I think I would like to do the same one day. This will help inspire newbies that mylot is a serious paymaster.
When I have received my second month payout, I will do likewise.

I got my first paycheck at the ripe age of 14!!! I was allowed to work at the hospital passing out dietary trays to patients. I loved that job and was so proud of myself! I will always remember getting that check and taking to to the bank. I cashed it and kept half to spend and put half in a savings account! I so wish that I had thought to somehow keep it for posterity sake! The same with my first real job post college...that check, from the first hospital while finally working as a nurse would be really phenominal to have! Where were you with this suggestion 25 years ago!!! ha!

And I do apologise, extremely sincerely and solemnly, that I wasn't born 25 years earlier so that I can advise you on this.

No, but I wish I had of.. my first job was when I was at school at a friend of my parents plastic factory. I was a pretty pathetic job, but the money was quite good, and they did pay by check, so I should have, since it is a neat idea. My first real job after school, was retail sales job who paid in cash, so there is no way I'd frame that though.. lol..

My first job was working in a retail shop at the age of 16. When I got my first payslip (no cheque, since it was automated bank transfer) I was a tad disappointed because of the amount of tax and other stuff that was deducted, leaving me with almost nothing for my hard hours I put in. That's when I realised that getting rich won't be that easy and I had to work twice as hard. Still, to this day, I feel I get taxed way too much, but at least my salary is much better than what I first started off with.
So, I didn't "frame" anything but these days it's nice to see a healthy income when I check my bank balance each month.

My first job was in an office during college. I know I only made around $300/pay, but I have no idea what I spent it on. Probably junk I didn't need.
Congrats on your first paycheck here! I noticed your post number a couple of days ago was pretty new, and look at it now! How much time have you spent here in the past week? Wow!

My first job was babysitting. I was paid in cash, so there was no paystub to frame. My first "real" job was lifeguarding, and he paid in cash, too. We had timecards that were signed, but I didn't frame those either. Now it's been so long since those old jobs, that I wouldn't see any need to frame the evidence of getting paid. I do get a kick out of restaurants that frame the first dollar they made, and often thought it would be fun to do that... but I didn't do that either.

Well, my first paycheque came to me about 25 years ago. I was working in a farmers field picking tomatoes. My paycheque was so miniscule it is kind of funny now. However, at the time I was proud and elated at making my own money. I never thought to frame it though. I just took it to the bank, cashed it and went out to party. :)
cheers

I was about 15 years old when I got my first paycheck. I was saving up money to go to Hollywood for a vacation with my best friend. What I actually did with the check itself I cannot remember. I worked for my mother so she cashed the check for me and probably put the stub away somewhere, but I never saw it again. Framing it is a cute idea and I wish I had thought of something like that back then. It'd be a nice piece of personal memorabilia to kick up some nostalgia with. :)
