Help! What has happened to my inspiration?

OK - so I need some advice! I used to make at least 30-50 posts a day here at MyLot, and earn some decent money from it.......... but this last week I just can't find inspiration at all :-(( At first I thought it was just the new job making me too tired to post during the week, but now I have a weekend, and more time, I am staring at the screen, and I still have literally NO inspiration to either start an interesting discussion, or even to find anything here I feel like responding to.
So has this ever happened to you? And if so - how have you overcome it?

I KNOW I am working too hard:-(( But then guess I knew that when I took the contract on - so I shouldn't be surprised!

I find this sometimes and I have not posted a new discussion for ages.
I feel that we sometimes go the full hog and then burn ourselves out. Maybe your new job has preoccupied yourself without you knowing it.
It is however hard to wrack your brains to find a new discussion, especially when you look at the new ones and they are so boring. I know if I post one it will get lost amongst them, so sometimes I can't be bothered.
Don't give up though as you do have interesting discussions, maybe you just need time out to get your brain in gear for a while.
It does however seem that there aren't so many thought provoking discussions as there was before. I think I need to search abit more too.
I'm sure you will come back fighting and I eagerly await another discussion from you!!!LOL!!!

Hey rosie...
Its Good you initiated this discussion, You have 10 STAR rating and you have More than One Thousand and Seven Hundred Plus Posts on your name, you are the inspirer for people like me. And imagine your previous daily stamina of 30-50 posts....!!!!!!!! That was really great. Do you know my daily posts are just 3-5 posts a day! And my all time best is just 10 posts a day which I achieved a couple of times!
Also you have got some very nice replies, when I will be lack of inspiration, I will read this discussioon
Actully whatever happend to you happens with all some day!
I am sure by now you are over flowinmg with Inspirations!

Yes i've had that, in fact i've just returned to mylot after having been away for about 4 weeks, because of a similar thing. I think sometimes we just need a break from the routine, just as we go on holiday to get away from the daily grind, we sometimes need to ease off mylot to give our brains time to relax. I wuldn't worry about it too much, take a little break and before you know it your creative juices will be flowing again and you'll be raring to go.
Hope the new jobs going ok. Take care.

Hello-o....30 to 50 posts a day??? i struggle to do 15. How do you do that many? how long does it take. I spend a lot of time reading posts and responses till i find something i can respond to aor comment on. I've been on-line now for 11hours. Of course I've been answering my emails, and trying to add a photo to my blog and trying to upload some photos from my camera and playing with my neopets account but still...I couldn't do so many. And you also work???? please.... don't say you have children and a hubby too.
Go on...tell me how you manage to think up or reply to so many. Please.

LOL! Well, no children, but I do have a long-suffering man who I've lived with for the past 20 years now!!! As for how I did it? Well, in my old department at work, I was very bored, and made an awful lot of posts from work, when I should have been working - LOL! So I guess I was pretty much on here for 8 hours a day, with MyLot just running in the background of my work PC to stop me going crazy with boredom! Now I have changed departments, and doing a different job for a 2 month period, and I work, work, work, which is probably why my productivity has dropped so much! Don't know how I thought of replies though - guess boredom will drive you to many thigs!!!

Well, in my old job, I had very little to do, so I guess I had MyLot running in the background of my office PC for a good 8 hours a day, at that time, though obviously I wasn't posting for the whole time. I was regularly making in excess of $2 a day then, but since my new job, my creativity, my post count, AND my earnings have dropped considerably - LOL!

Yes, I get days like this, when discussions are staring at you in the face, you have emails from friends that have started new topics, you look at them but the inspiration doesn't come, you are 'blank' and nothing will come, writers block, or typers block! Everyone suffers with it. Best thing is to walk away, give it some time and come back later, you'll be surprised that the inspiration will return! Sometimes the ideas and responses flow like a river, other times they barely trickle! Return later Rosie, do something else instead and see how you feel in a couple of hours. Hope the job is going well for you!

Thanks dear. The job is going alright, but it is very hard, and very intensive, so I guess that is really my problem - by the weekend I have a brain freeze, and all I want to fo is slob out in front of the TV, and not think at all! LOL!

I get like that for weeks at a time. I've hardly been on at all recently. I haven't found anything to post about and i've been finding it difficult to reply to discussions. I think sometimes it's just good to take a break, from MyLot or the internet in general. When you are on all the time it can get pretty boring so it's good to recharge the batteries. I've been watching DVDs instead lol. I think i'll get back into it this week. That's just the way it goes.

Rosie I wondered where you have been. LOL I go through the exact same thing. Some days I just have no motivation. I get lazy I guess. Other days I get on here and start answering one after the other and I get a rhythm going and then I'm ok. I do hope I have more of these days this month then the unmotivated ones. I think you are feeling like most of us do every now and then. If you look to on posts from your friends you will see a bunch and then a break so everyone goes through these cycles.

Thanks for missing me! I have been working virtually 24/7 on this new contract I am doing - it is only til the beginning of May, and I am glad because it would kill me otherwise! When the weekend comes round, I just kind of sleep, and sleep...........! I do try and pop in here every day though - but often just in my lunchbreak which is probably before most people from the States and Canada are online:-(( I will be back though!

I have this problem too Rosie. I think thats why I don't manage to post too often. However I do go through my friends posts and try to get some inspiration from those.
Just lately there have been other things going on in my life and I cannot seem to get any ideas from there either.
I am always thinking of what new subject I can put on but when I put it on the Mylot search I find its already been discussed so then I don't bother.
Its always interesting to read other peoples posts anyway.
Hope the new job turns out the way you want it too.
Keep posting.......!!

I have had this happen to me. What I have done is give the site a rest for a couple of days. Then look in my inbox. I have loads of mails there then that I can answer so it inspires me to start again.
I also like to think of the money!!

Yes, I think everyone now has a brain freeze. I hate it when I get those, and I don't know what causes them, but you will come out of it. You probably are exhausted with other thoughts on your mind right now, and so whether you know it or not, it probably is taking away from being able to post discussion. I bet in a few days, or by next week, you will be back on track.

This seems to be happening to a lot of us. Ive been here four months now and have seen my posting rate drop from over 100 per day to 30 or 40 on a good day. Im not sure how to get over it, but i know its been like this throughout February. I would also be interested because ive got a feeling im just getting bored and this is never good
blessed be

It happen with me too. I dont have any idea about what I can start a new discussion. I stand down in my bed and start thinking about what I can tell. I dont create new topic for a long time because I dont have many idea. when I start one, I have only few responses and its not good for me and my earnings. My maximum topic responses was 29 responses. But now Im posting more pictures and making more responses, not so much.

why not take a break from the site for a day or so for a rest this may be all you need. I read an interesting post the other day from someone here who has started keeping a notebook to jot ideas down for later use. An idea that writers use is to cut articles and headlines from papers and magazines that they keep in a file and when they need inspiration they look through this. they also make note of interesting sayings and conversations for later use.
Another guy on here was saying that now he had reached 500 posts and could copy and paste he ws going to start making posts and comments that he could save and copy and paste as needed later. I hope this helps but sometimes just a rest away can refresh us.
