Can love really turn to hate?

There is the saying that, "there's a thin line between love and hate!" Is it possible for you to truly love someone and then turn around and hate them? Isn't love unconditional? If the one you love has caused you hurt, shouldnt you be able to forgive them? Even if you decide to separate, cant you still genuinely love the person?

I have to say yes I think its very possible to truly love someone then turn aroudn and hate them....even though I believe love is unconditional....I could love someone unconditionally, with all my heart but if that person turned around and beat my children then raped and beat me that unconditional love I had for them would turn to pure hatred in a heartbeat....

i believe there is a thin line between love and hate and i do believe that love can turn into hate love is blind and so does hate it usually turns from falling in love to loving a person with knowing all of his faults i think that it is all about the personalitty of a person if he or she is emotionly unstable and usually and usually sees only black or white without the grey areas in between love can turn in his eyes to hate and yes you can forgive him and even after seperating it is natural to still love things in this person

Well in my life I have no hate. So love can't turn to hate. I may dislike the individual but I can & never will be able to hate any other human being. Thanks for a great discussion. Happy postings from Grandpa Bob
