if for example you have prayed for a specific situation and you received the answer from God is a big fat NO. and then you realize that you still want that thing so badly and you can't imagine your life after giving it up, what would you do?
would you disobey God or turn away from it and tough it out?
answers will be very much appreciated because i am really in a tight situation regarding this matter.

Don't listen to things which say that there is no god. ITS ANTICHRIST. You'd been warned in the bible about that weren't you! Okay, Trush ONly and ONLY the word of God because it is unchanging like God himself. IF it says yes, then yes otherwirse no. You must know how to differentiate between the voice of god and that, one of satan.
Pray to god and all your problems WILL be answered

If I am into that situation, I would choose to obey God, I believe that is why we're asking for God's permission because we love Him and we want to obey Him right?.God knows what's best for us..and He holds the blueprint of our life, He knows what He's doing..And He promised blessings if we will obey. God bless you!

If in fact God gave you that big fat no then don't do it. You have to look at the big picture and understand God and his wisdom. God would not tell you no just to be a jerk about it. He is telling you no becasue he know's what is best for you. Even though you might not be able to see that right now, just trust in him and in the end you will see what he truly has in store for you.
Hope this helps....

Hi there lpipe0240! I guess the real issue with me now is this: "Do I trust God enough?" I hope I get to resist this urge to rebel from what He explicitly instructed me to give up. It's not a thing, but it's a person I have to give up to be able to focus more on what He calling me to do at this season in my life.

okay, i just have to give up this certain person because he does not share the same faith as i have. but i honestly see myself having a future with him... i am having this concept of wanting him to be converted to my faith and maybe we could build from there. but God just said no and it's so hard for me to let the man go. That man made a connection with me that I don't think I will ever find in any other guy that's why it's so difficult to let him go. I don't want to lose him but i have been reading my Bible and it's been confirming the fact that I need to let Him go. Thanks again for commenting!

It sound like your a bit new to this. It might help to pray to God to help you during this time. He knows you are stuggling with this. Goto him in you time of need. Put you faith in him and pray.

If I prayed for something and God gave me signals that meant a NO, then I'd give it up, no matter how I wanted that thing. So what's the point in asking God about it, if you don't intend to obey Him, anyway, right? If ever you decide against what you feel He has said, then just be ready for the consequences that may come. God knows everything... and He only lets us handle what He knows we can handle. But, at any rate, He surely would give you enough strength to handle whatever would be the outcome of your decision.

hi paulsy! thank you. i am really glad people aren't tolerating my inclination to disobedience even here at MyLot. Thing is, when I started praying for that thing, I never really expected that I would get this depressed if He refuses it. Surely He is all powerful and He would help me out. Thanks for posting.

Well you have stated very clearly that it is big fat'NO'. In my opinion you should listen to GOD for GOD must have a very good reason for saying no.If you would rather disobey you would have to suffer consequences.Remember GOd says 'His ways are not your ways and His thoughts are not your thoughts.

thanks for the additional thought. indeed, faith makes life more exciting. if we knew what would happen next, what's the use of living. everything would be so scripted.

hi mineswill. following Him is sometimes like walking in a cave. you never see what's beyond until you shine the flashlight on it. right now, i am just trying to accept things because i have a major tendency to seek the major reason even if He does not want to unveil it to me yet. thanks for posting!

God, as omniscient and omnipotent as He is, always knows what is best for us. If a certain prayer receives a NO from Him, we need not question that. He always have something better in store for us. If He allowed you to be in a certain situation which seems to be unbearable, He'll lead you through it with renewed strength. It's just a matter of complete trust and submission to His will.

God had given us set of commandments and guidelines for living life according to His virtues. However, God is also very much considerate that He gave us freedom and will to choose what life to live. Everything in this world is a matter of choice. If you refused to heed God's advices, then it's up to you but then, you know that whatever bad things may come out in your life, you alone are to blame because it's your choice in the first place.

How do you know G-d said no? Is what you wnat to do a sin? Unless you want to harm another person or yourself, I can't see why you can't do what you want to do.I wish I knew exactly why you think G-d wants you do give whatever up. Good Luck.

It is really a dangerous thing to willfully disobey God. If you feel God's answer is "no", then He has a perfectly good reason for it. God only wants what is best for us. We think we may know what we need, but we don't always. We need to trust God and know that He is taking care of us.
Ask God to help you resist the temptation to disobey Him. Remember that satan is always whispering lies to you and you should not believe him.
God loves you!
God bless.

i think if you believe god is talking to you, then you need to seek psychiatric help becuase you are hearing voices and may be schizophrenic.

By the way, since you think this god is talking to you...if god told you to jump off a bridge, would you do it? If god told you to kill your family, would you do it? If god told you to rape your mother, would you do it?

i come with the premise of serving a good God who wants what's best for me. and it's not really a "voice" which you claim. it's some sort of signs that point to the specific thing i am praying for. not exactly the type of whispers you will find in psychiatric wards.
thanks for posting though, xfallenxlostx. =)

Also, i think you should know the point of my last post was to show you that you can make your own decisions...that you know what is right for you. Not that any god you believe in would tell you to do such horrible things.

It looks like you've already gotten some wonderful answers and advice here, and I'm glad you realize the need to do God's will and not your own. I know how difficult it can be. I just wanted to add that you'll be in my prayers, and I hope this difficult time passes quickly for you.

who sayas god says yes or no for anything/ it is our state of mind which makes us to do some task or not. god is the cocept created by man to follow the right track for his betterment for the betterment of society to live together as a society & to lead a good life understanding our responsibilities & to be in tune with nature. we should always listen to our inner soul & shoulnt get indulged in acts which are harmful forus for the society.

hi bandu123. i do have notions of whether God is a mere arbitrarily assigned entitry of human imagination. but lately, i have been feeling that all things that are happening are leading to a big NO. maybe you believe in Fate even if you don't believe in God...thanks for pitching in your thoughts on the matter.

I have faced a similar situation. There's this guy I love him a lot.And recently we broke up.That's whne I started thinking, whatever happens happens for the good and since god has done this with me there must be somethign good in it.This is when I started questioning God and God gave a signal saying he was not the right guy for me.I agreed and felt bad and sat quietly for a few days. And now I met him recently and fell for him again. And I think I will continue loving him and will not "move on" as God wanted me to.I will face it.I know God loves me a lot and He will melt in a few days and even if he is not the right person for me God will "make" him the right person for me!

Its ok if god say NO, But what your inner voice saying. As per my view first you try to lissen your inner voice if it asking for that then you shold try. Of course if god say no, you fell depressed. But if your inner voice want that then you will not fell well without that. so atleast you try once on that situation. once you try then if you wont get that then might be your inner voice will change, which makes you happy
