I have seen people just switching on the lamps when they enter the dark rooms and after their work is over & they leave the room they dont even bother to switch off the lamp. it simply glows. I some how get annoyed. If i notice any lamp glowing and not in use, just switch it off at home or office. How about you?

I always turn off the lights when I am not in a room in order to save on the electric bill. This is something that we used to do at my parents house from the time I was a kid. It just makes sense that leaving the lights on unnecessarily is a waste of money and resources. I have a neighbor who leaves a light on in the kitchen all night, every night. For some reason that annoys me, and I don't know why- I don't pay their bill! Why don't they just get a night-light to plug in?

I do try to turn off the lights when I'm not using them. However my kids always seem to be leaving them on. I tell them that it is expensive to leave them on but they don't seem to care (maybe I should make them pay the bill next time!!).

that would be right. Ask them to pay from their pocket money

my father was rather very strict and has always taught us to switch off the lights, fans etc. in absence. so i am very particular about this i switch off the bulbs, lamps, fans, tv etc. when they are not in use, and it is rather important to save energy also
