Water or Coke?
I could not believe this.... Very interesting
WATER
#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population.)
#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.
#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?
COKE
#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.
#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.
#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.
#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.
#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix
with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
#8... To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.
#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?
or Coke?

Great article! I am an avid water drinker and I still don't feel like I get enough. I get aggravated that so many restaurants push the soda beverages but have little else to choose from

That is very interesting thanks. I don't drink sodas but I'll have a large glass of iced coffee. That's made with water so it's OK right!

Thats great! So honestly in front of me sits my can of Coke-- well it's empty.. and a glass of ice cold water! FULL... Does that answer the question..
No really I drink 1 coke a day--- and I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day-- I start off in the morning with water-- And I continue until lunch-- then I drink my coke.. then back to water-- then milk for dinner. and more water! Water really is the only thing that quenches my thirst when I'm thirsty- I agree it also stops your stomach from growling! I carry a bottled water with me everywhere! Drives my daughter crazy! It's like a security blanket to me!

Coke basically dehydrates a person's body and it may quench your thirst intially but as it drips down the throat it starts extracting all the body fluids.
Wish people understand this issue and start drinking the best of nature's gift "WATER".

True, It's most fascinating learning so many thing about what could coke do to you ... I was an avid cola drinker until a few months ago ... but I was diagnosed with a irregular hart beating problem and my doctor forbid me to drink any more. I have to admit I still have some cravings to drink it , but health comes first place now.

LOL! Well as I read that, I was just relieved that I NEVER drink coke, or pepsi! I am not a fizzy drink fan at all to be honest, but coke is just the pits!!!! Even the thought of it puts my teeth on edge, and makes me feel sick! Strangely, the only other thing that has that effect on me is coffee, and I've often wondered if I am intolerant to caffeine, though I somewhat doubt it, as I drink laods of tea!
Ah well- I can be smug, and complacent on this one!!!

At home, everybody consumes the required number of glasses of water per day. There is still a problem though involving softdrinks. It is not necessaritly coke, there are other colas and non-colas, but these are still softdrinks. We are used to taking some because of their easy to use features, like just buy a bottle from a nearby store, open it and pour. We have milk, ovaltine and coffee, alright but, softdrinks are desirable after a meal, they are satisfying. We have been told of the bad effects of softdrinks and have somehow tried to have fruit juices, but the fruits are good enough to eat thus, they hardly become fruit juices anymore.
The 8-10 glasses of water intake per day must be increased if we take beverages like softdrinks, coffee, and tea to flush them out of our system. This is where I can no longer keep track of how much more water to take. Anyway, we just see to it that everyone in the family takes 2-3 liters of water a day.

it's really interesting what you wrote although i admit... i'm a coke fan...
however, since i've discovered my ulcer (2 years ago)i managed not to drink coke or any soda beverages for about 1 year.
presently, i can afford drinking some coke or any other soda now and then, because the wound in my tummy has been eventually cured (not totally, but anyway...)

Thanks for sharing this with us.
As a kid I grew up knowing that clean water is best liquid to drink, I also prefer milk over coke or sodas in general. But I'm not a hypocrite that doesn't drink sodas, I only drink every once in a while, probably once a week during a trip to the mall or cinema.

I prefer the taste of Coke. That is to say, the old, original Coke, with real sugar and a ton of caffene. I tend to drink water and juice because it is better for me. But I really hate the taste of water.

I used to drink coke and then switched to drinking pepsi. Now, I don't drink any of them, instead I drink iced tea especially in fastfood stores. I like the taste of iced tea better than softdrinks. Softdrinks are not good for our health too. It's addictive but it's not good.

I prefer water because if you correctly drink a water than it will maintain our fitness and it will protect you from lot of diseases. You people may laugh of my quotation. I will clear you. If we drink 1 liter of water 30 min before having our lunch or dinner it will really help for maintaining the fitness. If you drink more water it will cleans the stones in the kidney. So, I prefer water.
