Gradual, permenant weight loss

Hi After years of fluctuating weight I have reached a watershed moment and decided to abandon diets. That does not mean that I will eat as much as I want of what I want, it does however mean that I don't start regimes I can't stick to. I have calculated that the food I eat will be generally healthy with some naughty stuff as well. So in order to stay at a decent weight I need to have an exercise regime that is a comfotable part of my life. Heavy exercise programmes that I hate and only do for a few weeks are a waste of time. They are just like fad diets: you stick to them for a while, lose weight, and then out it all back on. The idea now is to create a healthy lifestyle that I can stick to. My main question is this. What exercise regime would you use which is not going to put me off exercise and which I can fit into a busy life?

jogging - jogging with a buddy is fun
People should lose weight to be healthy not because they want to look beautiful or handsome. As for exercise my regimen, I get them from http://about.com, they have plenty of exercises for busy peeople and I suggest that you change your routine every 2 weeks so you wouldn't get bored. Or you could find a sport that you will like, shed some pounds while having fun with friends, you can also look for an exercise buddy, someone who will push and motivate you to continue exercising.
