I know lot of people who are vegetarian, and there are some who ar vegan. I am wonder what is the main reason behind this. I know onle health issue can't be the reason. We can get good health only by good eating habit. Being vegetarian can't be the solution for good health.
I am strictly nonvegetarian:). I think if I don't eat meat or fish I will miss a lot of tasty food in my life.
Are you a vegetarian or vegan? If so what is the reason behind this for you?

I am a vegan because I don't think that my life is so important that it is more valuable than that of an animal. I hate to think of anyone suffering because of something I have done and that is why I can't eat animals or their products.
Sacrificing 'tasty' products is surely worth it for a clean conscience.

It is well known in scientific circles that in laboratory tests plants make recordable noises that are similar to human 'screams' when they are cut or pulled up ...
So whatever you eat it's on your 'conscience' that you have 'caused' some suffering of some kind ..

If we think about life there are life in plants too.
Personally I don't eat beef. I eat chicken mostly and we have to eat something to survive.

I don't eat meat, with the exception of fish, because I wouldn't want to kill an animal

I am definitely a meat eater, however I did for about a year try being a vegetarian, it wasn't easy but I got used to it, I still allowed myself to eat fish, eggs and milk. But because I go to the gym and need lots of protein to build muscle I couldn't bear the powdered protein, and one day my partner was cooking bacon, and you know how good bacon smells when it's being cooked! I gave in to temptation and ate the bacon, it was the best bacon I had ever tasted, since then I have never gone back to being a vegetarian. Sorry but for me it's too much of a sacrifice to give up meat!

I have been a vegetarian since 1994. I do not eat meat for many reasons - 1. Because I love animals. 2. Because it's healthier not too. 3. Because meats are pumped full of phosphates and growth hormons. 4. Because I have been to a slaughter house and the way animals are killed is inhumaine. 5. Because I feel gross after I eat meat.

I could never be a vegetarian as I like very few vegetables. I love roast chicken and all types of fish and I also like to be able to sit down to my traditional roast beel dinner on Sundays. I could live without vegetables but I couldn't survive without meat.

I am pure vegeterian , the one reason behind the pure veg is religious as I am from India and grown up in Hindu culture we have been taught not to eat non veg foods. Another reason behind to be pure veg is nature of the non veg food is hot which generates anger in human mind and disturbes mental thinking .

I like nonvegetarian food as well as vegetarian !, but my 90% food is vegetarian. I am healthy enough so I dont think that nonveg is only neccesary for good health. Vegetarian food is also very tasty and healthy.

I was a vegitarian for 12 years. I did it because i really don't like meat much and also don't like the way animals are kept before being slaughtered. Recently I have begun eating fish and chicken again. I am probably going to stop though because I felt much healthier as a vegitarian.

Honestly I am not a Vegetarian or Vegan, but my husband is a seafood Vegetarian which means he doesn't eat any animal meat only.
This is because of his health issue and he notice the improvement after 20 years without eating meat.
I tried to be a Vegetarian while I met him 7 years ago. Unfortunately I had to give it up due to I miss meat too much.

Im a vegetarian solely for religious purpose. I belong to the jain community and we are not supposed to eat meat/fish. Infact we also have some restrictions on the vegatbles we eat. The purpose behind it is to not eat another living thing as eating things that were alive is considered a sin. ive never really had a problem with this as thats how Ive grown up.

I am not a vegetarian I love my food and therefore I eat meat, chicken, pork, turkey, steak and fish as I do not believe that this makes us healthy not eating meat as we need a certain amount of all of the different foods that are out there today to build our bodies and keep them healthy.

i am a vegetarian. i used ot be vegan before i was nearly killed and my body took such a hit that i need more protein and unfortuantely, i had to start having eggs and cheese again. If you can think of any reason for someone to be a vegetarian, that is one of my reasons. Honestly. i don't like how it tastes, i think it is immoral and evil to murder animals, i don't want to support such a cruel industry, the healthiest diet is vegetarian...etc etc etc.

I'm a pure vegetarian. I tried meat and fish for sometime. But couldn't stick on long with it. And it's scientifically proved that vegetarian food is more healthier than non-veg. And it adds lots of toxins to the blood. And above all, when practicing yoga and meditation, yes, you have to restrict toxic food. And beyond a certain point, you would even experience that the body doesn't accept toxic food anymore. And vegetarian food leads to less stress, and gives more calm and peace to the mind. Makes your mind feel lighter. I have felt the difference.
