Reasons could be (1) In search of greener pasture (2) Better living condition (3) Safety (4) Attraction to materialistic style of living (5) Children education (6) Others - Please specify. My family came from a village to Bangalore in search of greener pasture (to make more money).

My father migrated from Village to the suburban and now lives in a city called MANGALORE - a coastal area. It is nice to live in a village, considering the least pollution, sincerity of the people and quiet atmosphere.

The first 5 years of my life we lived on a farm.My parents were farm managers. We moved to the city when I was 6, I think they were lured by the changes that were occuring during the late sixties. In the 80's we spent most of our time living on an island about 90 minutes by boat from the mainland. I think my parents were starting to feel boxed in. In the 90's I moved to the inner suburbs for work and a few years later decided to move back to the country. I then moved countries into a city whose population was nearly as big the country I left and after about 10 years I moved back into the country.
I prefer a slower pace of life and find that people seem to have more time.

The development of a subburb or a country side is dependent on various economic factors including its proximity to a town or a city. Your preference of slower pace is really good, not an alarming growth with increasing economic activity and overcrowding population. Thanks for interesting response.
