how do your pronounce stephen king?

age old question that my husband and I still debate about. Do you pronounce it like stefin king or steven king?

Well, having heard Stephen King in interview and he once said his name as "Steven" I'd go with that. He was talking about things & refered to himself in 3rd person.

"Steven", definitely. I've never heard anyone pronounce it "Stefin" before!

really? my mom, sister and I all all pronounced it stefin king, and my husband says it like steven. We go back and forth about it all the time.

I pronounce his name the way they do on television..steven king..thats what I thought it was supposed to be..

I've always pronounced it "Steve-en"..I don't know many folks who pronounce it Stephen King. Like Emerald said..the English language is pretty funky..but Steven flows better than Stephin King I think.

It is Steven :) My cousin has seen him lecture this last October. Very cool I guess he made a lot of jokes :)

Well I know he pronounces it as Steven, so I'd go by that. I've only heard people pronounce it that way as well. I've never heard the Stefin with him. I know normally the "ph" would make an "f" sound but with that name it makes a "V'. Just goes to show how strange the English langauge is.
