How does the post count work, as I have got slightly confused, when I post a new discussion, my post count does not go up, when i respond to people who have posted in my discussion it still does not go up, is it just posts made in other peoples discussion which makes your posts go up or have i got it wrong? Please advise a confused one.

Ok here is how it works from what I can tell. If you post in someone elses topic it goes up one. If you make a new topic your number will not go up until someone posts in it. It won't go up one until then. If someone does post in your topic and you respond I don't think your number goes up. You already got the credit when they posted in your topic. If you post in a topic and for some reason it gets deleted. If it violates a rule or something like that. I think your number goes down one and you loose that earnings too. These are just what I have observed in my many months here. I hope this helps.

Thats a great help, as I did wonder why when I hadn't posted something my count went up, I only noticed it about twenty minutes ago.

The number in parenthesis, your post count, is only for the posts you make in response to others discussions. It doesn't count the discussions you start or those that reply to your discussions. I hope this helps clear up any questions on that part. Happy posting.

That is what made me aware of the posts because I've been beavering away with reply comments and discussion threads and my post count wasn't going up as quickly as I had hoped.

The post count does work, but not in the way that you obviously expect it to. Posting a new discussion or replying to responses in your own discussion does not affect the overall figure. The numbers only advance in response to your reply to someone else's discussion. You are given some form of credit for the discussions that you create and the responses that you recieve, although I am not sure what the exact benefit is.

I had the same question in mind. Good thing I saw this discussion before posting anything, so as not to pester everybody with the same question again. XD So, that's how it works, eh...That was what I thought lately as I saw my post count remains after posting a discussion or replying in my discussions. err, another question...Are the earnings different when you reply to the discussion and when you just comment on somebody else's reply?
