do u know how to swim??

this question seems to be silly.. but im asking because one of my friend told he knows swimming .. oneday we went to beach and he told he is suffering from cold and he won't swim... but some of my friends pushed him into water and he started strugling for breath... then we understood that he don't know how to swim and i jumped into water and saved him... after recovering he told us he don't know swimming he lied to us because he feared we will laugh at him... from that day onwards i never lied to anyone for simple matters aand all.... what do u think?????

Yes I know how to swim since I was 5 years old, in fact I was a varsity swimmer back in high school and college. My favorite stroke in Backstroke and my least in the Butterfly. Aside from swimming I also enjoy snorkeling and would like to learn scuba diving. Now I'm planning to teach my 2 year old son how to swim because I believe it is essential for a person to know how to swim.
