I have only played SH 1, unfortunately can't afford all the requirements for 2. lol. I loved it though and played it regularly.
I want to see the movie so bad I can't stand it. lol

Sorry to ask, but what configuration do you have at your PC? So you can't play Silent Hill 2?

It is one of the best game i have ever played. But it requires a lot of calm to go through all the puzzles.

I really liked it(SH2)because of the improved graphics. It was disturbing from the first scene in the bathroom. The whole game was really weird and left you with an odd feeling after playing it,which shows it had a good story and atmosphere. I want to get SH 2:Restless Dreams for the xbox because you can play Maria's side mission. I think I've only played it one and a half times because it is so scary, I want to give it another go. The third one is okay but I don't like starting off in the mall. It's kind of sad in there and not much happens, plus getting stuck makes it really boring. The forth one was really different but I think the ghosts, especially the really bad ones, where pretty creepy. I hope the fifth one is a little like the second one and hopefully more.

Burner, Silent Hill 2 is definetly the best because of these reasons:
1) Captivating story line
2) Psychological theme and Horror at their best, rather than in your face horror as most games are!
3) disturbing environment and creatures
4) very very unsettling, leaving you anxious after you play it
4) A True Japanese Horror game
I think silent hill 2 delivered these ingredients in ways that no other games have done so far. In fact most horror games and movies are graphical rather than psychological....it is these games and movies which generate most money, and i think that this is the reason why there are quite a lot of people which say 'The Room' is the best SH.
But hey, i'm not a follower. I think The Room was not a bad game, but it just didn't feel like a Silent Hill game. First of all, it wasn't set in Silent Hill. That's already a big stumble. Second of all, although it did have a good story, its psychological theme was hardly felt unlike SH 1 and 2. In fact i think the game was based more on its violence rather than the ingredients i mentioned above for SH2.
I just hope that SH 5 and Origins will be faithful to the first two (or three) games. From what I've seen, SH 5 doesn't look bad at all....but i'm quite sceptical as its developers are no longer Konami, but a western company. Let's hope their themes won't become mainstream like in SH4. I believe this will seriously damage the whole concept behind Silent Hill

I prefer to Silent Hill 1 and 3 because somehow they relate to each other. Remember Harry Mason has a daughter?. That was Heather in Silent Hill 3.

I have seen the videos from Silent Hill 1 to Silent Hill 5.Lots of people say that Silent Hill 2 is the best and I agree with them. But if somebody asked me which is the worst Sillent Hill game? I would say Silent Hill 4 is the worst.Because it seems that Silent Hill 4 is out of the story line.

I loved Silent Hill 2, as it had an excellent storyline and terrific gameplay. The puzzles, though, I had to take a look at a walk through to solve though.
Personally, I do believe Silent Hill 3 is the best out of the lot right now. It's graphics are superior in many ways, the puzzles were difficult, but not too difficult, the storyline was perfect, among many other things.
