Do you know what is Server-based computing? In this architecture, the terminals do not contain any hard disk, thus all savings and program loading are done from the server. It reduces the risk of data theft, virus attack, saves cost of the network. Who can tell more on this?

We recently phased out our old WYSE dumb terminals (Green Screens) and replaced them all (200) with HP t5000 series thin clients. On the server side we're using Windows 2003 Standard running Terminal Services publishing our applications on the servers in the cluster. We have 4 servers distributing the load with network load balancing, not the best way to do it but it works. Windows 2003 Advanced server offers Session Directory Services which is a much better solution. The thin clients use RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) to access the desktop. From an administration point of view it's one of the best things out there. There are many other solutions.
