I saw this & had to share it. I loved it. I've done a few of these myself I'm sorry to admit. HAHAHA.
Ways to Know you're Cheap!
You attend a weekly coupon club.
You've been driving on the spare tire for over three months.
Fast food is your idea of fine dining.
You spend more time counting change during a single week
than you spend at church.
You're outraged when the price of a can of soda goes up a
nickel.
You haven't purchased a name brand product in the past ten
years.
You take the pennies from the container next to the cash
register.
Your family gets presents a week after Christmas because
you love that fifty-percent discount.
Matinee. Every time.
Ramen flavors correspond to days of the week in your home.

Hello grandpa. Before reading your post, I thought I'm cheap enough...but all those list makes me look expensive...LOL...
I don't attend weekend club and never bothered to.
Sure, I've been driving in my 3 years old car without bothering to replace it,
Ooohhh...fastfood is not my idea of fine dining either. I like the more glamorous setting complete with chandelier and a little something to make me tipsy...
I do count my change just to make sure its not a dime less.
Hmmm...I can only turn to a public maniac if there's not a single soda available for me.
I have recently purchased my whole sets of computer at $1000, a $500 worth for a single branded watch...am I cheap???
I always leave some pennies on the container, they deserved it anyway.
I always start scouting for my christmas list as early as January.
AM I CHEAP???

Since I don't do any of the above Grandpa Bob, does it mean I am not cheap? he he he. I buy usually name brands but mostly those that are on sale. I don't drive and have no car. I don't eat a lot of fastfood since there are a lot of cheaper eatery near my office that offers real food and I wasnt able to give presents to my family last Christmas because I run out of budget. I dont watch a lot of movies at the cinemas but I just buy CD's of DVD which costs cheaper plus everybody gets to watch it...and I always shop at the store that offers lots of freebies and discounts...well, I'm a lot cheaper so it seems...LOL. Happy postings Grandpa Bob!

Oh, I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that I am cheap. Espically when it comes to buy name brand things. I see no point in paying more for something just because the brand that it is. Most of the times the store brand iteams are just as good as the more expensive name brand things. I dont use coupons because its to much of a hassle for me to remember to bring them then remember to give them to the cashier. Alot of times it is aftr Christmas when my family gets there gift from me. But thats because either I forget to buy them something or I dont see them untill after Christmas is over. I dont take the pennies out of the change thing though. But I use to work at a convient store & there was this guy who was considerably well off. He drove a nice new truck & switched vehicles alot. Everytime he came in the store he would get all the money out of the change thing & put it in his pocket. I finally started putting the change cup under my register when he came in. One day I charged him 1 penny to much & he threw a fit then demanded that he get the iteam free because I had tried to "rip him off". Haha, gotta love those people that make a fool of themselfs in public.
Thanks for makeing me smile again! You're really on a row tongiht!

You mean you spring for the matinee. I try to wait for movies to be up on TV. A movie is a once in a while thing...maybe for the big screen.
Harry POtter is the only definite movie I'll go see.

I got tickled at your list. But I must say I don't attend a weekly coupon club but I do use coupons on a regular basis. I don't like fast foods if you think about it any more they are not cheap they are expensive. I go shopping after Christmas to get after Christmas specials. I take all my change when I get home and drop it in a bank I have at home. I don't movie theators, I would rather rent or buy my movies. Staying home to watch a movie means you save on not having to buy popcorn, candy or something to drink. Hmmmmmmmmm I guess I would be classified as being cheap.

hmmmmmmm.....let's see..I have a massive coupon collection that goes shopping with me and all the money I save using coupons go into a special 'coupon money' jar for emergencies. I always pay in dollars and put the change in a jar at end of day. I recycle HEAVILY! Garbage service only costs me $100/year instead of every 3 months. I save aluminum cans, even walking the roadsides whenever I can to get more and take them in for cash 2x/year. We use cloth napkins instead of paper. Old socks, t-shirts as rags instead of paper towels. I buy the big bottles of Mr.Clean and dilute into spray bottle to clean kitchen/bathrooms. I shop at Aldi's (discount grocery store) and GFS (discount warehouse). Whatever I need that they don't have, I buy on sale, with coupons or,if possible, both. Use the backs of old mail, printer paper, etc. for scrap paper. Mix my own hot cocoa from scratch. Use powdered milk to drink if I run out of reg. milk b4 the next sale. I have a big chest freezer so I buy in quantity on sale, divide if needed into freezer bags and stick em in it. I make my own tomatoe sauce from the garden for the freezer as well as chop my garden green peppers/onions into portions to freeze. Freeze green beans, corn, melons, and whatever else I happen to grow as well. I freeze enough to last till the following fall. I'm an organic gardener so I save a bundle by not having to buy insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, etc. Give my animals their shots myself but take them to a rabies clinic for that shot which is cheaper than going to the vet. My animals are all on heartworm preventive so I just buy it from vet as needed without having to take them in for heartworm checks. The heartworm meds they get takes care of all types of worms so no need to take in stool samples either. I have an Ionic Breeze so no need to buy replacement air filters. Reusable furnace filter that I just hose off and put back. I use my wood burning fireplace to heat our house in the colder months. My gas company has jokingly threatened to shut me off cause I'm not using enough gas to be worth filling the tank. (500g. tank gets filled once a year or less) lol Need I go on?

I guess I'm cheap. Dang, where's that coupon club meeting? I wanna go. I do cut coupons quite often and only buy during sales if possible.
There's other times to see movies besides matinees? Personally, I don't see that as being cheap. If you can see the same exact movie for a few bucks cheaper, then why not do it? You aren't getting any more of a movie for paying more, so why pay it?
And when coke goes up a nickel a can, that's almost a 10% increase in price. That's outrageous.

I am so cheap I dilute my shampoo. I have not bought brand name products for many years, except for athletic shoes, which have to be Saucony. I became a vegetarian and that really saves money. You dont have to buy meat anymore and it is healthier to be a vegetarian. I am so cheap I buy books at the local thrift store.

well, i might be a little bit 'cheap' as i fall into some of the things that you have listed in your post... but i'm not that 'cheap'... :-) i have to be 'cheap' sometimes because i and my hubby live on a very tight budget and we can't afford to blow it... nice discussion... thanks for sharing it with us...

Well, none of them except
Fast food is your idea of fine dining
You spend more time counting change during a single week than you.
